I slammed the door after my exit, it clapped like thunder behind me. Standing in the hallway, I fumed. How dare she? She wanted to leave? I was merciful enough to forgive and set her free and still she wanted to leave? How absurd.

“Caleb!” I called the guard mounted by the stairs.

“Yes alpha!” he ran up to me and inclined his head in respect.

“Stay by this door and guard it!” I ordered and stomped off.
