Daphne's POV
Ares trembled in my arms and I held him even closer, trying to calm him down. His distress was understandable. He was attached to the necklace. It was like a family heirloom and seeing him break down like this broke my heart. Now, all I wanted to do was to make it better, to ease his burden and calm him down.
“Shh.. it's okay.” I whispered into his ears, running my fingers through his hair. “Everything is going to be alright, I'm here. So just breath.”
Ares clung to me like a scared baby and I suspected that if the necklace wasn't found soon, he might lose control....
