I hesitate, wanting to help. But the dog looks like he’s got this.

However, I see the wolf’s eyes widen in unbridled rage, and fear for the dog makes me rush forward and grab its fur, shouting, “He’ll kill you! Come on!”

The dog seems reluctant to let go, however, but I keep yanking at it.

It sinks its teeth into the wolf’s shank once, and the shifter’s howl makes me wince, looking over my shoulder. I hiss, “More will come! Let’s go!”

The dog reluctantly releases the wolf, and I pull it along as I make my way to the entrance. It’s still snarling as the injured...
