As for Kathryn Montes, she held his arm even tighter, as if to demonstrate her authority. She smiled at Selena and said, “Look at you, Selena. Why didn’t you inform me and Anthony when you came back?”

“I don’t think that’s necessary.”

“I heard that you have lost contact with the Jones family when you decided to move abroad.” Kathryn seemed to show

her care towards Selena, but there were tricks in her words. “Why don’t you return to the Jones Group to have a look at them?”

Having seemed to notice Selena’s troubled look, Anthony spoke blandly, “Let’s go, Kathryn.”

“Why so rush? I’ve not seen Selena for a long time and I want to have a chat with her!” As she said, she dragged Selena towards the lift without giving her a chance to reject.

Selena’s lips went a little dry and she lowered her eyes. When the door of the lift opened, Kathryn dragged her into the lift.

Selena looked down and moved slightly to the side when she saw some guests entering too.

A guest who passed by her had accidentally touched the tip of her nose with his blazer. The chill she felt made her shuddered and she felt a sense of familiarity not knowing why. She then looked up wanting to have a peek, but Kathryn had blocked in front of her and her high heel shoes entered her line of sight. “Selena looked down and moved slightly to the side when she saw some guests entering too.

“Selena, would you be able to come then?”

“Pardon?” Selena did not know what she just said and asked,, would you be able to come then?”

“The engagement banquet of me and Anthony.” Kathryn raised her hand and there was a shiny diamond ring on her ring finger. Her eyes were filled with complacence and the corner of her red lips curved. “It would be at the eighteenth of next month, I hope you can come.”

That familiar yet expensive ring was so dazzling that it made Selena’s eyes sore.

She remembered when she went to the jewellery shop with Anthony back then, they had pointed on that specific ring, saying that they must use that when they got married in the future. Yet it turned out that that ring was worn by Kathryn now.

“I have job to do, so I might not have the time.” She turned her head to the side to avoid herself feeling more uncomfortable.

“Oh come on, Selena!” Kathryn held her hand affectionately and smiled. “I’ve always looked forward to you becoming my bridesmaid one day in the future since long time ago.” Selena secretly sneered.

So that meant she had always wanted to steal her boyfriend long time ago? Seeing her did not say a word, Kathryn’s eyes flickered and she smiled. “I know you’re scared that you don’t have a male partner to bring to the banquet. Don’t worry, I know a lot of friends, and I can introduce one to you.”

“I have a boyfriend; it’s just that it’s inconvenient for me to go.” Selena pushed her hands away without a change in expression and continued, “Plus, I’m afraid that he won’t let me go to the engagement banquet of my ex-boyfriend and my best friend

too.”

The expression on Anthony’s face changed. Kathryn’s face also froze yet she once again seized her hand enthusiastically. “Selena, why don’t you make a call to your boyfriend and ask him over? I really have to thank him for taking such good care of you.”

“There’s no need for the trouble. He’s a busy person.”

During the stalemate, Selena suddenly tripped over something. With a loss in balance, she fell straight forward. Without intending to hold her back, Kathryn secretly moved to the side.

Selena bumped into a hard chest and her forehead hurt. She then heard a sneer from the top, which was inexplicably familiar.

Within just a few seconds, Selena stood straight and looked up. When her eyes touched the man’s aloof face, she secretly turned her head to the side and cursed.

Was City M that small? Why did she always encounter Andrew Wright with such a way whenever she took the lift?

Kathryn asked, “Are you alright? Selena.”

Selena clenched her fists. Ever since they entered the lift, Kathryn had been showing off and teasing her. She could not be more complacent if she knew she did not have a boyfriend. What annoyed her more was the man who she had met the third time was obviously watching the fun!

With a second thought, Selena suddenly held Andrew’s shoulder the next moment intimately. She could clearly sense the man’s body freezing when she approached him and she was greatly delighted. She then said with an affectionate tone of voice, “Darling, are you going to give me a surprise by secretly waiting inside the lift? You’re such a bad boy...”

Except Selena, the rest of the four people inside the lift were all startled. Kathryn even gritted her teeth in hatred.

That man was exceptionally good-looking. He looked elegant and cool. From the suit he was wearing, he must be a big boss. How could Selena be able to hook up with such a man with good looks and great wealth?

She then smiled. “Oh Selena, he didn’t even look at you when you enter the lift, how could he be your boyfriend? You’re just pretending that he’s your boyfriend, but you should at least discuss the script of the play with your actor beforehand!”

Feeling anxious, Selena secretly glimpsed at Andrew.

She was slightly unsure of the man’s thought and she did not dare to speak further. The man slightly raised his head in arrogance and said icily and curtly, “So just how much money do you think she should spend to hire me to act for her?”

Selena was dumbfounded. Had he admitted he was her boyfriend?

Jack Rey who was quick in analyzing the situation quickly pretended to flip through some documents and said with an audible voice, “Mr. Wright, this is the speech for the celebration event…”

“Mr. Wright?” Kathryn did not manage to control the volume of her voice and she let out a shrill. The man before her was actually Andrew Wright? She did not have the honor to see him in real person, but she did hear a lot of his rumors.

Andrew Wright had always avoided contact with women.

Some ignorant cooperative partners wanted to give him a spouse but their business relationship with Andrew Wright were all broken under his rage, and the firm bankrupted in just one night.

Seeing Selena in other man’s arms, especially when the man was everywhere better than him, Anthony pulled down a long face.

Kathryn could not endure it anymore, she almost dragged Anthony out of the lift the moment they reached their designated floor.

She then smiled awkwardly, “Then I’ll be looking forward to have you and Mr. Wright at our engagement banquet until then, Selena.”

Selena only heaved a sigh of relief when the door of the lift closed once more.

Andrew Wright glimpsed at her and said, “You’re bold enough to challenge me back then, but now you’re behaving like a coward in front of other people?”

His oppressive aura pressurized Selena and she did not dare to move a muscle. She pressed her back tightly against the wall and clenched her ten fingers. “You can talk, but don’t come so close to me when you talk!” She was nervous. Her tongue seemed to have tied up and she stammered.

That woman was just like the same woman from five years ago! Andrew’s look turned gloomy.

He never liked the insecure feeling of not being able to take control of something. But the woman before him was able to make him lose control over and over again. “Didn’t you come way closer to me in the lift that day? And you’re saying you didn’t do that on purpose?”

“Who said that? I was in a hurry that day, and that was an accident!”
