Selene’s POV
My eyes fluttered open. The room was the same as before, still smelling faintly of fresh flowers, but Dark was nowhere in sight.
I braced myself on the edge of the bed, swinging one leg over, and tried to stand. Pain ripped through my thigh, forcing me back down with a sharp wince. The room was large, airy, sunlight spilling across the floor.
Gritting my teeth, I tried again, forcing my weight onto my injured leg. The ache was still there, deep and gruesome, but I straightened my back and took a proper look around.
