“You look so beautiful, I could actually take you here.”
The words slipped out of my mouth before I could stop them, low and barely audible, meant only for her ears.
Isabelle’s cheeks flushed a deep pink, and she bit her lip to stop her laugh.
“Stop,” she whispered back, her voice soft but teasing, her fingers tightening around mine. She was trying to sound serious, but the way her lips curved into a smile gave her away.
The cleric cleared his throat loudly, breaking the moment, and I couldn’t help but grin.
Right.
We’re in a church. Probably not the best place for that kind of talk.
