I winced in pain as I tried to sit up,

My body ached from the thin bed that I had slept on for who knows how long.

I had no idea what time it was, but I knew it was morning.

The torchlight on the table was dim and one could hardly see the ray of light.

I squinted, trying to see that figure entering.

It was a young man, different from the one that came the previous day.

He held a tray of food in his hands.
