In another part of the world, another pack of wolves
Carlin.
Letting the strangers into the pack is a dangerous thing to do but then I could sense Clarissa's hesitance and I didn't want her to feel bad for turning away from those strangers.
I know this won't sit well with my father who doesn't like people crossing into his pack without me firming first.
"Thank you" Clarissa whispers into my ears, her voice sounds so soothing that I immediately feel relieved for helping out.
I stare at the two men before us, they seemed to be traveling by and I could catch the whiff of them them being wolves which made sense as to why they had approaches us in the first place
They look harmless but I won't lower my guards around them,
"Thank you so much for having us here, we are lone wolves who love traveling we've been traveling for few days Without stopping to rest and my brother here had just gotten injured, he's healing but not fast enough" the first wolf explain, I give him a questioning look but then I state right beside to Clarissa who already has a look of pity on her face.
"I'm Mike and my brother here is Raphael," he says introducing themselves.
I can't help but pass curious glances at them, they seem pretty harmless and honest so far but I don't like how rapheal keeps staring at Clarissa.
She's beautiful I know, if I were him I'd stare as well but then he should know when to stop, he should have taken the hint Since he saw us together.
Clarissa however seems to have no idea he was gawking at her shamelessly and if she knew she seems to be bothered about it judging by how she had a wild smile plastered to her face.
I cough slightly just to get her attention but she seems to notice me, she pulls me closer by the arm and leans in on me.
"Stop being jealous" saying that She moves forward and I scratch the back of my neck awkwardly as I gesture for the two men to walk with us.
They oblige beaming with smiles, light discussions were formed between us and soon enough they were in the pack grounds.
"To my room now!" My father mindlinks me and I can tell he's pissed.
"Take them into the guest room, provide them with whatever they need as well as food they'll be leaving first light" I say to two pack guards who nods to my command and with that I strides with Clarissa into the main house.
"Come to my room this instant!" I get a mindlink from my father and he doesn't seem to be pleased. I knew it would come down to this buy. I didn't think he'd be this pissed.
"I have to go now" I say to Clarissa, lines of worry forms on her face and as much as I'd love to kiss that out of her it's dangerous, we can be seen by anyone, She nods slowly and I walk forward behind me.
With slow strides I walked into my father's room, it's late. I didn't bother checking his office. I knew he would be here.
"You called for me father" I speak up knowing how furious he is right now, he gestures for me to sit, I hesitate for a while but eventually I oblige finding it somewhat strange.
"You've been making bold choices these days"
I swallow hard not knowing what he meant but then I do not think asking him questions will do anyhow good, I'll just have to play along.
"I'm sorry dad, I could not just ignore them after their pleas, they seemed desperate and In need of help" I explained knowing well I had helped out all because of Clarissa.
"Since when did you begin to care about things and people?"
I have to admit I had not expected his question but then he is my father he knows me just so well.
Truth being told, before I met Clarissa I was mostly Nonchalant about everyone else and everything else, all I cared about was my pack and how I could protect it.
The old me would have ignored the strangest because they could be an enemy or spies, although the thought of that probability still lingers on my mind I can't help but brush it aside all because of Clarissa.
"I've always cared, I just felt this was way more important" I lie.
I averted my gaze from my father's from the feat that he could tell the difference, he raised me afterall.
"You think he's gone fall for that crap?" My wolf butting in mow of all times, I try keeping a straight loll even when I know inwardly there are thousand curses I'd like to throw at my nosy wolf.
"I guess, let's go with that silly lie of yours just how long did you think you could go on sneaking around with Alpha Grey's daughter Clarissa?"
Once again I'm caught off guard and thrown off balance by his question. His words and phrases had a catchy time to it which means he was onto something and probably knows about us but then the timing isn't right yet.
"What do you mean by that? We've been friends, you told me to be nice, didn't you?" I ask, trying to pin the whole thing down on him.
"Just when did you begin to take orders from me? I don't ever recall you being a listener" father says, he crosses his arms over each other making me adjust I. The seat as I'm getting totally uncomfortable.
"Do you have any idea what you are doing? This could cause serious harm between the two packs and the alliance would break in no time, you know how well alpha gray is protective over his daughter,he's getting uncomfortable and called my attention to it" I swallow hard I once again thinking if it's best to tell him now, but then I can't just speak without knowing how Clarissa would feel about this just yet.
"She's a friend of mine there's no need to be worked up, I'll give her Space if that's what you want there's nothing to be bothered about" I respond in a hurry wanting to clear off whatever doubts had formed in my father's mind.
"There's no need for that anymore, the alliance had been formed and her father had told me they will be leaving tomorrow"
