Lena stared at the note over and over again, her fingers trembling slightly as the paper crinkled between them, wondering who would have sent it. She read the words again, her lips silently moving along with each line, trying to make sense of it.

“Who could have sent this?” she whispered to no one in particular, her voice wavering slightly. 

Then, she drew the letter to her nose, trying to sniff it to get a clue, still nothing. Whoever sent it masked their identity well, and she was scared of why they wanted to get rid of her.
