Evan’s chair scraped against the floor as he rose to his feet, his eyes blazing with fury.
“What did you do?” he demanded, his voice deep and cold.
“I didn’t do anything!” I cried. “I swear! I cooked the food myself, I didn’t do anything else!”
But he didn’t believe me. I could see it in his face—the anger, the disbelief, the disgust.
