I froze and turned my gaze on him, my ears eager to hear what he had to say.

“Okay? What could that be?” I quizzed, my voice deep with curiosity.

“I once overheard Shannon talking to herself, questioning the moon goddess to know why she was forced to be in a place where she felt unloved, despite possessing remarkable healing powers.”

For a moment, I fixed my gaze on him, my mind slow to understand what he meant by those words. “What are you trying to say? What has Shannon got to do with this? What power does she possess that the pack healer doesn't?”
