“If you breathe a word about this to anyone, I will make sure I squeeze the life out of you and your worthless baby.”

The words hung heavy in the air, leaving me breathless.

I didn't say a word. The words felt glued to my tongue, and I couldn't help but stare at her, watching her leave like she owned the palace.

“Lock the doors and make sure no one sees her without my approval.” She muttered to the guards and left, her shoes echoing down the hallway.
