Chapter 3 - Meet Up

Chapter 3 - Meet Up

"Gea, where are you going? You're in such a hurry."

Denisa, Gea's best friend and playmate on campus, immediately reprimanded her when she accidentally passed in front of the library. He found his best friend getting ready to go home, even though it was only three o'clock in the afternoon. Of course, this is different from Gea's habit, as usual.

As a diligent student, Gea tends to come home late. Usually, when there are no classes, Gea likes to hang out at the library first. Whether doing assignments or just reading a book. Later, at precisely five in the afternoon, the girl decided to go home. And now? The day is still scorching. Seeing that his best friend was already getting ready to go home was strange.

"Tonight I have an appointment outside," said Gea while unzipping her backpack.

"Promise? You mean you want a weekly night? With whom? Rio? Didn't you break up already?" asked Denisa without pause.

Previously, Denisa knew that Gea had broken up with her on the day she gave news about the possibility of having an affair with her best friend's ex-boyfriend. Denisa is very grateful. He had always prayed for Gea to realize that he had only been used all this time.

"Ouch unclean!" shook Gea hard. "Not meeting that asshole. I really don't want to see his face again."

Denisa put on a questioning face. Be curious as to who Gea wants to meet tonight. Besides, it's a shame that his best friend goes out on a Saturday night like this. Meanwhile, when dating Rio, Gea rarely spent time meeting up on weekends or other holidays. Weird indeed!

"So it's not Rio? Who are you meeting with then?"

"If I tell you, you will laugh," Gea said softly. The girl then grabbed Denisa's arm. Invite him to immediately sit on the waiting chairs that line the campus corridors.

"What's wrong, anyway?"

Denisa's brow furrowed deeper. Sticky stare. Waiting for Gea to explain all the barrage of questions she had previously asked.

"Papa has a plan to set me up with his best friend's son."

"WHAT?!"

Denisa's eyes are successful. He shook his head repeatedly because he couldn't believe what he had just heard. "Don't joke, Ghe. It's not funny. April fools is still a long way off. So you don't have to lie too much."

"For God's sake, Denisa. I'm not lying."

Denise was silent for a moment. She looked back at Gea's face and dived into the woman's soot-black beads to find gaps in lies. Which is a serious and honest look that even his best friend displays.

"Who do you want to marry?"

Gea took a deep breath until her shoulders rose dramatically. She was confused and also really wanted to tell from where. She was still shocked to face that he had to be arranged with someone he had never met.

"I don't know either.

"What's your name, Gea? Why did Uncle Gorge marry you all of a sudden?"

Gea then reopened her shopper bag. Please take a photo from inside there, then hand it to Denisa.

"I don't understand what kind of demons Papa has. When is that day, he suddenly gives a mandate to meet a guy who plans to arrange an arranged marriage with me. Can you imagine how surprised I was?"

Denise nodded. Don't worry, Gea. Even he was shocked to hear this news. Then the woman grabbed the proffered photo that Gea had given her. He looked at it for a moment; then, he was stunned.

"Is this the person you want to arrange an arranged marriage with? Randy Anthony is the grandson of Aron Anthony?"

Gea nodded wearily.

"Yeah. He's the one."

"That's good, Ghe," joked Denisa innocently.

"Huh? Good what?"

"Yes, good," said Denisa. "Randy is famous everywhere. If you marry her, you will automatically become famous and you will be guaranteed a happy life. The rich people of her family don't eat up 12 generations. However, there are downsides."

"What?" Gea inquired.

"Randy is a well-known playboy. In infotainment, it's often reported that celebrities have changed girlfriends. But that's okay too. If you marry him, it will be a big achievement. People think you've succeeded in conquering a playboy alligator class."

Gea immediately chuckled angrily. Why is Denisa turning annoying, just like Gema, her older sister? They're both the same. He is happy to sacrifice himself to get married soon for the sake of business.

"You don't have to be crazy, okay! You are really like Gemario Antolin Donovan, my super annoying brother. Don't you feel sorry for seeing me marry a guy I clearly don't know or love? Moreover, he's so far away from me," he protested. Gea blatantly.

Laughter immediately broke off from Denisa's lips. It's also funny to see Gea's annoyed expression. But, according to Denisa, Gea should be happy. After all, who became his soul mate is not a random person.

"It's easy to make acquaintances, Ghe. On the way. The age difference doesn't matter too much. Besides, love affairs can be arranged. Have you ever heard of the old adage 'you can do it because you're used to it', haven't you?"

Gea immediately shook her head.

"What saying, anyway?"

"It's simple, if later you get used to meeting and diligently interacting with your husband after marriage, gradually that feeling of love will surely grow by itself."

"Alah, you're just like Mario Teguh when you talk about it," Gea sneered, which Denisa immediately laughed at.

"But I'm serious, Ghe. Just try it first. Count as a substitute for Rio. Later, if you are really married, you can just show it off to him if you can find a replacement who is more everything."

Gea just chuckled. After discussing at length about her future husband, she quickly said goodbye to go home first because she had to get ready before meeting Randy tonight at a cafe.

Randy seemed bored listening to the chatter of one of the candidates she met today. Starting with Alesha, while occasionally sipping coffee in her cup, Randy heard how the future wife her mother had offered had been showing off their family's wealth.

"Apart from traveling around Indonesia, I also have a hobby of traveling abroad once a week when the work schedule here is empty. Especially now that the bank that Papa manages is in the stage of an overseas invasion as well. In this way, it looks like I will choose to stay abroad rather than in Indonesia," explained Alesha at length.

"So you like traveling abroad?" asked Randy casually.

"Of course. I am mainly going to Milan or Paris. It's heaven because I can shop for various bags or expensive shoes to collect.

Randy nodded. Feeling that he had had enough, he chose to say goodbye, then proceeded to the next meeting at a beauty clinic owned by the second candidate, Velia. It only took 30 minutes for Randy to spend. Feeling bored, the man continued to the next candidate, Tamara.

"Of the three candidates, all of them are not to my taste, Vin," Randy complained when he had just finished a meeting with Tamara, whose behavior was similar to Alesha's.

Randy thought hard. Why are all the women he meets more or less the same? I love the imaging. Some are exaggerated.

"There's one more, sir," Alvin remembered. While focusing on driving the car, the man responded to what Randy said. "I hope that the last one fits Mr. Randy's criteria. If it doesn't match either, that means you have to get ready to get another candidate from Mrs. Liana."

Randy was heard to let out a long breath. It's so tiring to have to face a situation like this. Instead of attending blind dates, Randy prefers to work on many business proposals in one day without the slightest break.

"Hopefully the last one doesn't act as much as the previous one, Vin. To be honest, I'm tired of their behavior, which is almost the same."

Alvin just smiled. Accelerating the vehicle's speed, the two finally arrived at a cafe in the middle of the city.

Walking casually, Randy entered the meeting place. He glanced around the room, looking for the figure he was about to meet. Not long, his Netra caught the existence of someone who he believed was the last candidate he had to meet.

"Good evening, is it true that you are Gea Amelia Donovan?" asked Randy politely.

The girl who was sitting immediately looked up. Choose to stand, then nod no less friendly.

"Yes, that's right. I'm Gea. You ---"

"I am Randy Anthony," interrupted the man, pulled a chair, and sat opposite the woman before him. "Sorry if I'm a little late."

"No problem," said Gaea.

A few seconds of silence. The two of them seemed deep in their thoughts until the man spoke again when Randy cleared her throat a little, trying to find an atmosphere.

"Don't you want to introduce yourself first? Or show off about your strengths with me?"

Gea smiled a little. Turning her face slightly, the woman shook her head, then spoke somewhat cynically. He was determined not to mince words, let alone make faces. Deliberately to the point, the man she met tonight would not be the least interested in her.

"Just so you know, I don't like small talk. Especially showing off about what strengths I have. Because to be honest, I myself am not interested in blind dates or arranged marriages that our parents are currently planning."

Randy pulled the corners of his lips into a smile. If the previous three candidates were busy imaging by showing off their strengths and abilities, it differed from the young girl he met today. It was clear from the look on his face that he didn't have the slightest interest in her.

"So you're meeting me tonight as a formality?" asked Randy curiously.

Gea nodded honestly. Not in the least did he try to maintain an image in front of the man who was predicted to be so famous that he was even branded as a crocodile class playboy.

"More precisely respecting the request of both parents. To be honest, on the one hand I don't like matchmaking like this. But, on the other hand, I also can't argue with what my parents have ordered. So instead of being cursed so rocky, it doesn't matter if I sacrifice my schedule for watching Korean dramas this weekend to meet Uncle."

"Uncle?" Randy's gaze was surprised when the woman in front of her suddenly called Om. Does he look that old?

"Yes. I read from the biodata file that your age is now 35 years old, while I myself am only 23 to 24 years old. That means, our ages are quite far apart. It's almost touching 12 years. Of course I'm right. call you Uncle."

Without realizing it, Randy laughed. Instead of being offended, he even felt funny hearing Gea's outspoken words, which seemed natural without making things up.

If people are usually busy trying to get his attention, Gea looks very different. That girl is very ignorant. He even dared to compare tonight's meeting, which is worthless compared to watching Korean dramas at home. Not to mention the nickname 'Om' that he just pinned.

"You're cute, aren't you? Too honest. But it doesn't matter, I prefer an honest girl like you."

"Ah, it's normal," said Gaea. "Uncle is the one who thinks too positively. Besides, what are you doing too much imagery. By the way, how are you yourself Uncle? Do you have something to say? Or maybe you have something to say?"

This time it was Gea's turn to ask. After only 15 minutes of a meeting, he was bored and wanted to end tonight's blind date.

"Not really," Randy shook her head. "Just like you too, today's meeting was actually just a formality."

"Yes, then," said Gea later.

"Yes already what?"

She immediately got up from sitting. While wearing the sling bag she had previously put on the table, the girl prepared to leave. It seemed that the boredom he felt tonight had reached its highest point.

So, instead of continuing with small talk, Gea thought it was better to end it. After all, Gea felt that the man in front of her was also reluctant to choose her as a potential wife.

"Let's just finish meeting tonight. After all, we're both not interested, right? Instead of wasting unnecessary time, it's better for us to go home and rest. The important thing is Uncle has met me, I've also seen Uncle in person," Gea chattered. He didn't even hide how he felt. To hell if Randy is offended by all the words or attitudes that he shows.

"So you want to go home right now? It's only half past eight. You're not afraid to be asked by your parents why you're coming home early?"

"Before, thank you for worrying," said Gea. "But Uncle, you don't need to be afraid. Everything can be arranged. After all, I'm also sure that I don't fit into Uncle's ideal wife criteria. That's why our meeting ends here. Thank you very much for the free time that has been sacrificed. Good evening. "

Randy watched Gea leave in silence. Of the many things that were dancing in his brain, there was one thought that made him suddenly smile. It was as if there was a plan that Randy was preparing to be executed immediately.
