Chapter 5 - PR5

Chapter 5 - PR5

"Ma, are we serious right now visiting the house of the woman Randy chose?"

Veronica Blake nodded casually in response to her son's question. Not only that, they were all on their way to the girl's residence.

Today, after hearing Randy's answer, Veronica deliberately ordered her son to leave work earlier than usual. He then took her and her husband to visit the residence of the parents of the girl Randy had previously chosen.

It is Gorge Donovan's residence that Veronica and Adrian Anthony went to this afternoon. After previously giving the news and getting the green light to visit, the two hurried off and didn't want to waste any more time. It's not without reason that they are in such a hurry. They were worried that if they were not executed quickly, their son would change his mind halfway. Randy is such a character.

"Okay, don't worry, Ran. If you don't rush to visit, someone else will take your future wife. After all, you really have to meet your future in-laws first, and discuss what your formal proposal will be like. Mama wants everything to be done immediately."

Randy swallowed hard. Want to argue is also useless. If Veronica Blake, alias the mother, has already given an order, how can it be denied, let alone dared to be rejected? His mother, when she is angry, beats the lion. His father had never dared to fight all this time.

At around five o'clock in the afternoon, Randy and her parents arrived at a luxury house in South Jakarta. As soon as they got out of the car, they were immediately greeted and asked to enter the living room. The owner of the house, Gorge Donovan, and his wife are pleased and enthusiastic about the presence of their guests this afternoon.

"After all this time, we can finally visit your house in person," Veronica said, starting the conversation. He and Gorge himself have been friends since their college days. Adrian, the husband, also knows Gorge and has been a frequent partner in big business for a long time. So, this meeting is like a reunion between old friends.

"I am very flattered because you are willing to bother to visit, Ve. So, this is your son, whom you used to often take around for project surveys?" asked Gorge, then turned his eyes to Randy, who was sitting right next to Veronica. Smiling, Gorge faintly cast a scanning gaze as if he was assessing the man he would later make his future son-in-law.

"Yes," nodded Veronica. "This is Randy, the little girl who used to ask you for ice cream. Now, look at her, she's grown up. She's really cute. That's how smart she is to lead a company."

"It doesn't feel like I've grown up. It's also lucky that Gea was chosen by Randy to be his future wife."

"I was even surprised. Out of the many candidates I offered, he chose your daughter, Gun. He said he had just clicked since their first meeting that night. The name soul mate doesn't go anywhere, does it?"

Randy, who sat listening, could only shake her head. Now, he is aware that his skill in speaking and babbling all this time was not inherited from his father but from his mother.

We will see. From earlier, Veronica seemed to dominate this conversation. She tried hard to build chemistry and good impressions with the other person.

"Uh, but by the way, where's your daughter?" said Veronica, as if she couldn't wait to see her future son-in-law in person.

"Gea has a class schedule today. But, don't worry. Soon she will be home. Gea never wanders off or goes for a walk without permission first."

After only a few seconds, Gorge said that sentence, and the princess he was looking for appeared to come. Dressed in casual clothes while carrying a shopping bag filled with college books, Gea entered the house. As he passed in front of the living room, Gorge immediately waved, called out, and asked the princess to come over to him.

"Gea, come here, honey. Someone wants to meet you."

Gea, who was called at that second, also turned around, frowning in surprise and wondering who else would want to see him this afternoon. After all, the father also had guests who wanted to meet him. Something must be wrong.

"Meet Gea? Who, Pa?"

"Yes, that's why you're here first."

Gea wanted to refuse. But because he maintained his self-respect and didn't want to embarrass his father, he couldn't help but obey. Lazily, Gea dragged her feet, then came closer. She was approaching his father and stepmother, who were sitting receiving guests.

"Here, honey. Get to know each other first. They've come all the way here and are waiting for you to come home."

Gea nodded. He looked up, then gasped in surprise. Her eyes, for a second, also caught the presence of a man who seemed to recognize her and was now looking at her while smiling a puppy smile.

"Uncle Randy, right?"

Being called 'uncle' in front of both parents, one might even say in front of her future in-laws too, made Randy widen, and she couldn't stop thinking. This woman thinks of her as om-om. What do you do? After all, where are uncles who look as handsome as him?

Randy is already similar to South Korean Ahjussi-Ahjussi. Despite his mature age, his looks no longer need to be doubted. It's even better than an unstable teenager who is in puberty.

"Gea, be polite. Can't you call the guest Uncle?" Gorge said uncomfortably. I'm afraid Veronica and Adrian will be offended by what their daughter said. Everywhere, the first meeting has to make the best impression, right? Gorge also forgets that his youngest daughter is a bit 'happy' and outspoken.

"It's okay, Uncle Gorge," Randy said hastily, interrupting. His actions even seem to defend what Gea did to him. "From the first time we met the other day, Gea called him that. He said it was an affectionate nickname for me. Let it be different from the others. And I agree."

Gea, that second also glared. Mana thought that Randy would say carelessly to everyone who was there. How could this man argue that the title 'om' is his affectionate nickname for Randy? Seriously!

"Eh, s-anu. It's not like that, Pa. Gea ----"

"It's ... it's .... you don't need to explain anymore," Gorge cut in immediately. The man didn't let his daughter finish her sentence first. "Papa, I didn't expect it to turn out that the two of you are already familiar and even have all kinds of affectionate nicknames."

"What did I say, Gun..." added Veronica. "These two are truly matched and match each other. No wonder Randy is so sure about choosing your daughter."

Gorge nodded in agreement. Turning his eyes, he returned to speak to the princess.

"Okay, Ghe. Take Randy around the house first. Or you invite her to chat on the back porch. At the same time approach. Papa and Aunt Veronica and Uncle Adrian also want to have a serious chat about you."

"But, Pa----"

"Come on, Ghe," Randy asked and stood up. "He said yesterday, when I visited, you wanted to show me your favorite pet. What did you care for yesterday? Cat and dog, huh?"

"No!" Gea clicked. "I keep crocodiles!"

"Gea," said Gorge once again. "Come on, hurry up. Show Randy around."

How can Gea refuse? With a heavy heart, I finally asked Randy to go around and simultaneously move to sit on the house's terrace right next to the swimming pool. I am still determining what he will discuss or talk to that man after this.

***

"Oh, what are you doing here, anyway?" Gea protested when she and Randy were already sitting in one of the pavilions in the swimming pool area of her house.

Because the location is quite far from the reach of their parents, Gea no longer needs to pretend to be polite or maintain an image in front of the other person. If necessary, he would make calculations right now because Randy had spoken carelessly in front of their parents.

"Besides, why do you even use the title Uncle as a nickname for all kinds of affection."

Randy just laughed. He was listening to how Gea babbles while grumbling. He was very annoyed, apparently with what he had said while in earlier.

"It's a sweet call, right? The proof is that of all the women I know, you're the only one who's different and dares to call me Uncle. What's his name if it's not a sweetheart call?"

"Ck, an exaggeration! The concept isn't like that either. Then what are you doing here, all kinds of things?" asked Gea again.

"I want to propose to you. I want to invite you to get married soon. After I thought about it, of the several candidates that my mother suggested, I was more interested in you. So, how about it? When do you want me to formally propose? Then, want to request no, where is the wedding party held?"

Gea immediately glared. She was staring in horror at the man next to him. This is why you suddenly ask to marry all kinds of things. Where is self-confidence if he will not refuse?

"Hello... Uncle are you still sane, right?"

"100% sober and sane."

"Who wants to marry Uncle?"

"Yes you are," said Randy confidently.

"Didn't I say the other day that I don't agree with blind dates, let alone arranged marriages? Besides, yes. Uncle, please be self-aware. How come I, who is young and beautiful, is set up with an old and famous alligator guy like Uncle?"

Rand gaped. Gea's babbling again left him speechless. For God's sake, Randy was used to being nicknamed crocodile, playboy, or the like because he likes to change partners. But, say older man? It was new this time, hurting both his heart and his pride.

"Say it carelessly. Where is there an old guy who is as cute as me," Randy argued, not accepting it? The man even lifted his chin proudly.

"Still. Uncle's age is much older than me. Don't be shy."

Randi then nodded. When it comes to age, he is not evasive.

"I know we're not the same age. But, it doesn't matter if I'm with you for the rest of my life."

"Dihh, gosh, you don't have to talk, O uncle. That little change won't work for me."

"Seriously, Ghe. That's why, tell your Papa and Mama, from now on you don't have to bother taking care of you anymore. Just let me take over for them."

Gea snorted indignantly. Talking to Randy requires extra patience. Besides coercion, the man is also overconfident. Trust him too severely. Gea got sick of hearing it herself.

After all, how could Gea take Randy for granted? When he first met without getting to know him first, the man already believed and was sure he wanted to make himself a wife. Even though Gea is a good child, she still feels strange. Gea also doesn't want to marry a man she doesn't love at all. Moreover, it must be a lifetime together. Just imagining it isn't easy.

"Alright, ah. I think our conversation ends here. I'll make sure to Uncle once again if I don't agree and never want to marry Uncle. So, don't be pretentious, OK! Don't force yourself to ask me to accept this arranged marriage. . I hope when you enter later, uncle make it clear with our parents to cancel what they have planned."

Gea then rose from his seat, intending to return to the house. It was the same with Randy. Because he didn't want to be left behind, the man quickly got up and followed in the footsteps of Gea, who had entered first.

"How? Have we talked to you?" asked Gorge when he realized the princess and her future son-in-law had entered and walked toward the living room.

"OK, Pa. Gea thinks that's enough. Uncle Randy also said he wanted to go home," Gea said deliberately, then glanced at Randy, who smiled. "Uncle Randy also wants to confirm the continuation of this match."

With all her soul and trust, Gea hoped that Randy would hear what she had previously asked for. Gea wanted Randy to give understanding to their parents to stop the intention of this arranged marriage.

"So, you two have talked to each other? Papa and Aunt Veronica have also finished talking seriously about you."

"That is, Uncle Randy also wants to talk seriously about this arranged marriage to Papa and Aunt Veronica."

Then, Gorge's eyes shifted from Gea to Randy, standing right behind the princess. As if to confirm something, the man immediately asked a serious question.

"How about it, Randy? Do you agree that in the near future, maybe in the next month there will be an official proposal event followed by a wedding ceremony?"

Gea was anxiously waiting for an answer from Randy. His eyes didn't turn away in the slightest because he was curious about the man's response.

"Randy doesn't agree, Uncle."

Hearing those words come out of Randy's mouth, Gea immediately breathed a sigh of relief. Thank you very much because Randy wants to listen to what she asked for before.

"Don't agree? You don't agree to marry Gea, Ran? Didn't you choose her?" asked Veronica, slightly shocked.

"Not disagreeing with marriage, Ma."

"Then?"

"Randy does not agree that the application event will be held next month. Randy wants the application event to be accelerated so that it will be next week. How about that?"

Gea glared back. His heart even felt like it wanted to jump out of its socket after hearing what Randy had just said. Is this why the old uncles are even more arbitrary in making decisions?
