Tamara's POV

*Beep Beep Beep* Aghh Why was it morning already? I turned to face the ceiling and sighed heavily. "Just four more months T" I told myself. I checked my phone and saw a few messages from Jasper and Jasmine. Isn't it funny both my friends are Jas? But I call Jasper Jay cause Jas is girly. I chuckled and opened their messages.

Jasper and I met when we used to stay in Paris. We were there for almost a year. I was 13 then. Just like Jas he was so nice to me and Tyler. He's much more funnier than Jas and more of a drama king too. He's a party boy as well, he just loves fun and being around those he loves.

Jasper (1:09am): your sleepy ass is missing out I'm with Alicia and she said she misses you so much. She took me out for breakfast to that hotel you like 😂 Alicia was his sister, Jasper has an older sister and one baby brother. I miss them so much

Jasper (3:43am): dude wake up I wanna facetime you there's this beautiful view you have to see

Jasper (3:45am): on second thought I'll just send you a picture so when you wake up you cry about missing out on so much he's being evil right now. He sent me a pic of the River we used to visit when I needed to breathe. It's beautiful.

Jasper(4:50am): Tam Tam guess what 😁😁

I wonder what he did.

Me: I so hate you right now, but kiss Alicia for me and tell her I miss her too😪😪.

Me: guess you're grounded for attending one of the biggest concerts in Paris? It's three pm in Paris right now I know he's awake.

Jasper: ayt I will do that

Jasper: haha very funny Tam. But no. Then what?

Jasper: I'm coming to California.

WHAT? is he being serious right now?

Me: If it's a joke please let me know right now so I don't get all excited for nothing.

Jasper: 😂😂 you still haven't changed I see

Jasper: I'll see you in three days Tam Tam.

So he's really coming. "YESSSSSSSSS" I shouted jumping up and down my bed really happy. This is gonna be the best day ever. Three days and I'll see my favourite buddy. I really couldn't wait. I wonder what he was gonna be doing in California?

Me: I really can't wait to see you😁😁

Me: Gosh I'm so happy right now. Me: Dude there's this really cool ice cream shop near mom's cafe in Beverly hills that I know you'll love.

Me: I can't wait to give you a proper tour around here. 

Jasper: 😂relax Tam don't get all excited yet. Why the hell not?

Jasper: Wait till I tell you something I know will really get you excited when I get there. Huh?

Me: what's that?

Jasper: can't wait for the surprise already? Now he's being unfair

Me: you not gonna tell me aren't you?😪😪

Jasper: you're cute when you cry. I chuckled knowing he's never seen me cry. Idiot.

Jasper: and you better get ready for school I know it's 6:37am there. Oh shit.

I ran into the bathroom and opened my shower real quick and stripped my clothes. Got in and started scrubbing my self. I got out and moisturised my skin and went to my wardrobe. Can never go wrong with black can you? And that's why it's my favourite colour. I picked out some black jeans quickly then ran through my shirts and okay we're going black today I guess. Okay I got dressed really quick, so now I just have to find a jacket or a sweater because it's still winter and today looked a little colder, but if it's a sweater I'd have to take my shirt off cause I don't like how I get all hot when I'm wearing a sweater and a shirt underneath plus a bra, I feel like that's too much and I don't have the time to be taking off this shirt I already put on. I looked at my jackets and saw a denim jacket that had a white cotton collar and I felt like it would be okay with this outfit. I threw it on and looked at my hair, Oh Lord I don't have the time. I sighed and decided I'll just give it some boose to look a little more lively then let it loose, no ponytail or bun today. I glossed my lips and looked at the mirror one more time

"Okay we're good just shoes left" we're going boots today. I put on some grey socks then took out my black military boots and tied them up quickly, grabbed my bag and phone then went downstairs.

"Goooooood morning family" I announced as I was about to finish climbing down the stairs.

"Look who overslept today and that's new" Mom said sarcastically knowing we've been here before. They had already started with breakfast. Bacon and eggs oohhh I'm hungry already.

"I didn't though" I said and kissed her cheek then sat down.

"Morning sis" Tyler said after finishing chewing. I started dishing up some bacon eggs and some toast. I poured some juice and started eating.

"Mom. Tyler. I have amazing news" they both looked at me.

"You found a way of graduating high school early?" We all laughed at Tyler's question. I guess it's no secret how much I hate that school but no.

"No" I took a bite of my food, mmmmhh this is so delicious. "Jasper is coming to California in three days."

"What?" Mom was so shocked. "That's amazing news honey, it's about time he came to visit us." Come to think of it why didn't he come all along? "He's gonna be staying over with us right? I mean why be staying at the hotel when we could all be together, he's a good boy I trust him"

Mom doesn't know Jasper the way I do and I like that, I wouldn't want her thinking he's bad influence on me while he's a good friend you know he just likes fun.

"I agree mom it's about time he came to visit." Tyler said. He's also his friend. Jasper was kind of the family friend not only mine.

"I'll tell him you suggested that but he said he has surprise and I wonder what it is. I think it'll be him telling us how long he'll be here." I said

"Right. Maybe he's here for college? He decided to switch?" Mom said.

"That totally makes sense mom" I drank some juice "I'd be happy to finally get to be with him again I was tired of missing him anyway." I continued to eat.

"This winter break you could've just bought a ticket and went to visit him you know." Tyler shrugged

"You know perfectly well I can't do that." I said quietly. I was scared of being away from mom and Tyler and leaving them alone. I don't know I just found traveling without my family very uncomfortable.

"We'd be fine Tamara. You have a life to live as well, stop pausing it for someone who died two and a half years ago." Tyler pressed and I found myself running out of words to disagree with him.

I decided to finish my food quietly and not argue with Tyler. As much as he was right it still scared me and I knew he knew my reasons. I guess he was just being a concerned little brother.

Mom took us to school as usual and it was the longest day ever I just couldn't wait to go back home.

Darin's POV

I checked my time and it was 2:23pm and I just finished my class for today. I go to University of Southern California and major in business. I was born by two great business people I guess it runs in the family. Mom always says she's so happy they don't have to give their businesses away when they die they can always be passed down the family. I don't like death talks so I always just nod and then change the subject.

I got in my car, today I used a different car so Tamara wouldn't even think about running away when she sees me. I was driving the new mercedes two seater my dad bought me on my birthday in November. It's a beast. I love mercedes cars, they just make me feel good. The G wagon was almost two years old. Tamara's school was like twenty five minutes away so I drove there not wasting any time.

I got there in twenty since I was kinda speeding a bit making sure I don't miss her. What if her mom really is picking her up? I got a little nervous. Well we'll see but right now I need to see her.

My phone rang and I checked who it is and Brandon was face timing me. I answered.

"Hey man"

"Darin where the hell did you go?" Oh no I forgot to cancel lunch with him and the group.

"Damn I forgot to tell you guys, uhm I can't make it to lunch."

"What? Why?" Angelina AKA the drama queen asked

"Because I have stuff to do Angelina. I forg......"

"Stuff more important than your friends? Ridiculous utterly ridiculous." I told you she's a drama queen.

"I'm really sorry guys. Tell you guys what. Let me finish what I'm doing and then I'll explain everything tomorrow okay? But right now I have to go. Bye." I hung up just as the school bell rang

Okay Tamara let's see if you were telling the truth.

Tamara's POV

Finally I'm going home. Today wasn't just my day. I've been down since morning, especially after Tyler told me I need to get a life. He's right though I worry too much it's getting to my head now. Even these nightmares won't stop if I don't stop thinking about my past all the time or being scared. I'm even scared of making new friends cause I don't trust nobody so I think being alone is nice and good for me.

Take Darin for example. Poor guy just wanted to talk and be friends with me but I pushed him away and to top it off I lied about mom coming to pick me up. What is wrong with me? Maybe mom is right, maybe I do need a therapist. But one thing I know about therapists is they'll tell you stop being scared and socialise a little more.

"Aghhhh" I groaned as I came down the stairs of the school entrance. I guess it won't hurt socialising a little bit. But I first need to apologise to Darin for lying if he forgives me then agree to be his friend, see Tamara that's a good start. But where can I find him? Wait he said him and Candice aren't really a couple so they probably go to the park as a routine thing to deceive the public or whoever is watching them.

I guess we're going to th.....

"So I guess your mom got busy even today" I swear that literally gave me a mini heart attack. I turned to look hoping that is not Darin but nope it's really him. Shit. Just when I thought things would be okay if I went to him and apologised. Now he won't really forgive me.

"What are you doing here?" I honestly didn't know what else to say.

"Obviously to see if you were lying to me or not, and turns out I was right." I felt really bad for lying to him.

I took a deep breath and got closer to him "Darin I'm sorry for lying to you, I was just about to go to the park to see if you're there so I could apologise."

"I don't live at the park Tamara" he chuckled and started to walk but stopped after a few steps. "Are you coming?" I chuckled and started following him, I guess he's taking me home like he asked yesterday.
