Daphne's POV

The door to the room opened and the man came in, i heard Liam call him Charlie before

He was holding a book that looked ancient

"Thank goodness, you are finally awake!" Charlie squealed in excitement making Liam to wake up

Thank God Liam is holding me right now or I'd have been in much pain from Charlie's extreme emotions

"Daphne, am so happy you are finally awake" Liam said with a smile

"Where..... Where am I?" I managed to say

I'm still not able to get my voice straight, after being quiet for 22 years straight, it's a miracle I can even speak

"You can really speak" Liam said "why didn't you speak all this while?" Charlie asked and I kept quiet

"Well" Liam said "You are at my house and after what happened in the woods, you've been unconscious for 3 days"

"What!...... 3 days?!!" I asked surprised

"Yeah" Charlie said "and Liam was always been by your side holding your hand thinking it stops something from affecting you"

"It does" I said in a low tone

"Something happens to you right? That's why you were screaming back then in the woods" Liam asked

"I..... I can feel people's emotions"

"If that's it then why do you always scream?" Charlie asked

"You don't understand" I said slowly "I don't just feel them but I feel them as pain, intense pain"

"Were you born like this, with this ability of feeling people's emotions?" Liam asked

"No, it all started 22 years ago when I was 5 years, that was when I began to feel people's emotions"

"22 years ago?" Liam asked

"Yes" I answered

"Do you remember the date?" Charlie asked

"How can I ever forget it, 13 March, 1994" I said and they looked dissapointed

"That wasn't the day you started waking up in the woods or was it?" Charlie asked Liam

"No, that was 27 April, 1994" Liam said and I gasped

"What is it?" They both asked

"It's nothing" I said

But it isn't nothing

I just couldn't bring myself to tell them that the day he started waking up in the woods was the worst day of my life, the day I killed my own parents

It was from then I totally became a lonely soul

Was I the one calling out to him

Was my soul reaching out to him?

"How are we connected?" I asked aloud

"I don't know" Liam said

"I can't feel your emotions and whenever you hold me, you seem to block off other people's emotions from me, how's that possible?" I asked

"I don't know about that Daphne" Liam said

"Who were those hooded figures?" I asked again

"Now about those hooded figures" Charlie said sitting on a chair facing the bed "I've been making some researchs while you were still unconscious and I finally found something, that was what brought me here in the first place" he said while opening the book he was holding

"I went to the Walker's library below the house" Charlie said

"We have a library below the house?" Liam asked surprised

"Just shut up and listen Liam, there's alot of things you don't know about the Walker family" Charlie said

Liam's POV

"I've been doing a lot of readings there and I came upon this book 'Ancient Magical Creatures" Charlie continued while Daphne and I listened

"I was reading through it and then and I came upon 'The Animae mea Venatores' though I do not know what that means"

"I do" I said and they both looked at me "it's a Latin word for 'The Soul Hunters', I came across something like this while working at the library, they are also known 'The Cavas Frater"

"What does that mean?" Charlie asked

"The hollow brothers" I said "what does the book say about them?" I asked

"It says they are 3 ancient creatures and they hunt for blood and soul, they are deadly and powerful but they don't hunt randomly, they hunt for a reason and for some reason which I don't know, it's after you guys now" Charlie said

"How can it be defeated?" I asked

"You don't understand Liam, it can't be defeated, you can't kill something that's already dead, the best you can do is avoid it" Charlie said

"How do we avoid it?" Daphne asked

"They trace your scents so you can't stay in one place for long and I've got musk root all over the house just to mask your scent but it's just a precaution, it isn't that effective" Charlie said

"So what are we going to do now?" I asked

"What else, we've got to do what the vision says, find your roots, if we know how you guys are connected and we might find a solution to all this and you've got to leave here soon, like I said before, you can't stay in one place for too long" Charlie said

"I already know my roots, am a Walker" I said

"There are many things you don't know about the Walker family Liam but nevertheless, we'll start from Daphne's side" Charlie said

"It's gonna be hard finding my roots" Daphne said "Am adopted"

"Which orphanage were you adopted from?" Charlie asked

"I was just a baby, I don't know" she said "but we might find a clue if we go to my parents house here in West Haven, the place we lived before all this, before we had to move to the woods"

"I guess that's where we'll be starting from then, we'll leave tomorrow morning" I said

"But.... But I can't go outside, I won't be able to handle the pain of feeling many people's emotions at once" she said slowly

"I guess I'll just have to keep holding your hand for the whole time" I said

"Okay, tomorrow morning then" Charlie said standing up "I've cooked though, in case you guys are hungry" he said and left the room

Everywhere was now silent, Daphne didn't talk and neither did I

She must be thinking of everything too

What is going to happen now

Will we be able to find our roots and how we are connected?

Or will we live this Cursed life forever?

I looked at Daphne

She has went through a lot

Being alone in the woods for 22 years! Thats not easy

"Are you hungry?" I asked and she puffed

"The last time I had a meal was 22 years ago" she said

"What!!! And you are still alive?"

"I wish I died but I guess death is too good for me"

"I think it's time you have a meal" I said as I made her stood up

"Let's go" I said still holding her hand

We went to the dinning and met a pot of noodles

"What's this?" Daphne asked

"You don't know what this is?" I asked surprised

"No, is it a new kind of food?" She asked

And then it dawned on me

She got cut off from the world 22 years ago

She left the world 1994 and a lot of things has changed since then

"It's a new food" I said "And trust me, you'll like it"

I tried serving the noodles with one hand since I was holding Daphne's hand with the other

I finally succeeded and we sat down on the chairs and we began eating

"I like it, it tastes amazing" Daphne said with a slurp and I laughed

"You've stained all your mouth with it"

"Just let me be, stain is the least thing am worried about right now, this is the first time am having a meal for 22 years" she said still eating and I continued watching her with a smile

"Aren't you going to eat?" She asked

"Am not hungry" I said with a smile

"I'll take yours then" she said and I chuckled

It suddenly started raining and I continued watching Daphne

She's almost through with all the noodles, even mine

"They are here!!" Charlie screamed as he ran into the house panting

"Who's here?" I asked

"The Soul Hunters, they've sensed you guys, you've got to go now, take this with you" Charlie handed us a bag of musk roots

"With that, it will take them longer to find you. You should take the car outside" he said quickly handing me a car key

"But..."

"You are not the last Walker Liam, find Aria" Charlie said quickly still panting

"Who's Aria?"

But Charlie couldn't answer me

The door suddenly opened and the Soul Hunters came

Before Charlie could say anything, one of them brought out a hand and some crystal suff in form of smoke came out from Charlie's body and then he slumped on the ground, lifeless

"Charlie!!!!" I yelled but Daphne dragged me

"We've got to go" she said as we ran out of the house before the hollow brothers could turn to us.......
