With the gate closed to my face, I could not picture myself leaving even with all the hurt and pain. I know I should get moving; a mate bond can always be rejected, but the mere thought of that does something weird to my brain.

I can only picture myself walking towards the gate and breaking into it to take her away from him, the strange guy I know nothing of but it strikes me at once.
