It was raining heavily outside.
It was quite a gloomy day, with the unexpected rain. I was yet to understand the mystery of rain falling on every funeral day.
The TV was on but nobody was really watching. It was muted.
The day Kelly’s dad was put in the ground. We had all attended, even Denise had insisted on coming even though she didn’t know much about Kelly or her dad.
To be honest, none of us knew her dad. But because she was now part of the family, we felt her grief. Not as she would feel it, but we did feel it.
