“Mom!” I squealed the moment I spotted my mom in the living room, her gaze on the television. 

Her eyes whipped in my direction, they brightened. A huge grin widening her lips. “If it isn’t my darling daughter.” She was already rising, walking towards me with open arms. 

I ran into them and hugged her tight. “I missed you so much, mom.” 

“Ah, I doubt that.” She pulled away, feigning annoyance. “You never think to visit your dear old mother ever since you started hitting the runways and gracing every screen in America and beyond.”

“I’m so sorry, mommy.” I was suddenly six again. “I promise I’ll come visiting...
