HAVEN 

I was scared. Really scared. 

I wanted my mommy and my daddy to come get me. The tears wouldn’t stop coming but I was scared to cry out loud. 

Aunt Cassie had told me to remain inside this big, black bag daddy puts in his soccer things. She said I shouldn’t make any sound. 

I heard her talking…or maybe she was fighting, I didn’t know exactly. 

But the car started going so fast and then I heard a loud boom sound. It had scared me, my body shook badly.

The sound I had heard had been too loud, I almost screamed. 

Mommy’s number was no longer going. I tried...
