“Mr. Steebny, I really didn’t do anything. She attacked me first!” Zoey rushed forward to grab a chair, pointing accusing finger at a sober, nervous me.
I quietly sat on the second chair, my mind already a labyrinth of wrought nerves and panic. I was this close to hyperventilating and bawling my eyes out while begging for mercy on my knees.
I was scared. Scared of having this ripped from me. This audition made me happy. It’s the most excited I’ve been for a long time now.
