“Any update on the killer yet?” I was in the police chief’s office. 

“No new evidence or update yet but we’ll keep looking. Peter Dubney gave his own side of the story as did his wife but it didn’t really help. They didn’t see anything. Do you think you could allow us interrogate your daughter?”

“No, chief. We’ve talked about this. She’s too little. She has been traumatized enough. I don’t want her even remembering that day. Please.” I argued firmly.

I couldn’t bear the thought of putting Haven through that ordeal again. I was even grateful that she’d forgotten it or maybe she’d just chosen to stack it...
