When I got to the hospital, I didn’t need any guide to direct me to Cass’s ward.
Once I reached there, Zac was still with her, Haven too. She rushed over to greet me, throwing short arms about my legs before I could get the chance to squat to her level.
“Hey baby.” I had to lift her up to my hips.
She giggled, Happ to see me. “Hey mommy. Auntie Cassie is awake. I’m so happy.”
And she was, in fact, truly happy, such was the heart of a child. It made me grin. “I’m so happy too. Let’s go say hi.”
