I drew a deep, shaky breath. “Shouldn’t I be? What if he says no? What if he… rejects me?” I couldn’t stop the panic from seeping into my voice even if I tried.
“I think we’re way past that, Dahlia.” She said, adjusting the straps of the simple dress I’d chose for this… occasion — if I could call it that.
“Don’t worry, Dahlia. I believe he’ll not reject you.” Sadie encouraged, caressing my cheeks.
