The engine groaned as I veered off the asphalt, tires skidding over loose gravel. I peeled off the mask of the man that I took, my gaze running over his clothes that I wore. It was a pity I had to put a bullet to his head, but that was necessary.

I needed to escape.

Dust and small stones sprayed behind me, disappearing into the distance of the forest. My hands trembled, my heart hammering as I accelerated. It was what I had to do.
