Chelsea knew she had to stress her brain to remember, but she couldn't, it was as strange as it sounded, but she shook her head and regretted the action at once.
"You ran over me?" she asked Louis her voice light and unrevealing.
Louis didn't know why he felt like a murderer, but he didn't care, he had to be honest with this lady, she is going through a lot as it is already.
Sitting on her bed and making himself comfortable, he brushed the strands of hair from her forehead, which was quite beautiful, and the manner in which he held her gaze made him shift on the bed uneasily.
"You were been chased by some thugs in an alley, you ran into the road just when I was returning from work and I ran into you. I didn't see you coming, Chelsea, I swear, and I would have prevented it if I had the chance to," he breathe out the last part feeling himself go rigid all of a sudden.
That made Chelsea's heart swell with several emotions tied to the nook, she couldn't breathe properly, and even if she has to, the pressure Louis was already adding on her with his words made her eyes sting with tears.
"I am sorry," Louis added hoping that it would make her better.
That didn't happen, but his sharp glares caressed her body. She loves this lady, she is the one his heart throbbed for and even if she had a broken rib or not, he will still love her unconditionally.
"I want to go home. Do I have a home?" Chelsea heard herself ask.
She was in a haze, she wants to know these things, to let them go on and on, the fear that even clothed him was one not close to the other, but the swiftness in his body and soul made it quite undaunting.
Louis didn't know what to say, but he thought honesty was a way to start.
"You do have a home, but for now, you'll be leaving with me because I will have to take care of you," he said firmly.
All the young lady did was stare at him. "What if there is someone I have to inform about my situation?" she inquired.
A warm smile settled on Louis's lips, he think he knows one person that could answer Chelsea's queries more than he can.
"You have a best friend, Thalia, I bet she would run to this place if she finds out about what happened to you," Louis let out genuinely.
He wasn't lying, and at least, he loves that part of him so badly.
"This seemed to warm the lady up.
"Oh! I didn't know about that. Thank you for saving me by the way," Chelsea muttered up.
Chelsea was in real pain and there was no denial of that. He wished he could have been the one to be in trouble and not the other way round, but that isn't helpful, oh no! the mere fact that fate played foul on people sometimes made it hard for him to even breathe properly.
"You are welcome," he managed to say after a long while.
No one dared say anything for quite a while and although the young man died to say something, to utter a word, he was just too silly to keep his mouth open and mutter out the words he needs to feel better. The moment Louis opened his mouth to talk, he was cut off by Chelsea's sudden words.
"I want to go home, please," she muttered then when she noticed the young man had scrounged his face in thoughts.
"Do I have a home? why the sudden look?" the young lady inquired and her question succeeded in jolting Louis out of his world.
He knew he had told her about being his boyfriend, but that was it, he didn't know much about her life, where she lived, or her background, but with a little shuffle here and there, he can act like everything is fine.
Shifting on the bed and nudging closer to Chelsea, he made hold of a lock of hair that had gotten loose from its messy bun and stumbled on her face.
"I can't really say about that, Chelsea, I didn't have enough time to ask a lot of questions before you had the accident, we had just met and all of that..." he explained bowing his head and feeling very gravely.
All Chelsea did was a sigh, and with the softest breath, she fell into the dragging slumber, that was just nice and the fact that he loves seeing her made a lump grow in his chest.
Louis couldn't take off his eyes from the young lady's own until he heard his phone buzzing in his pockets. He didn't know what time it is, just he soon found out when he removed the phone and checked the time before staring at the Caller ID. It was one p.m. and the caller was Marco.
Heaving a sigh, he slide the screen to the right and answered.
"Hi Marco," he murmured a polite greeting hoping there wasn't any thread of tiredness in his voice to betray himself.
"Hey, dude, how are you today?" the young man said and he thumped his fingers lazily on his workbench.
Although Louis couldn't see him, he knew the kind of things he could be doing right now, and that thump on the bench was a sign that he was either bored or just looking out to distress himself that much.
"I am alright. How are you doing?" the young man inquired once more hoping for a reply.
It was a matter of seconds before Marco knew that something was wrong with his friend.
"Spill it out, bro, what is the manner?" the young man questioned his voice as light as the wind.
Louis knew he could trust Marco, he is his best friend, thus, he blurted out faintly, revealing the truth.
"It's Chelsea, she had an accident and I caused it," Louis said faintly.
Marco gasped.
