The gates opened slowly and we were greeted with the presence of the werepanther King. His eyebrows lifted in mild surprise.

"You are the werewolves from the blackwood pack," he said.

"Yes," I said. "We have come in response to you request."

He rubbed his chin. "Just the three of you?"

"Unfortunately so," Quinn said. "The Alpha was still adamant about not wanting to join the fight."

"Yes, he made that perfectly clear," The panther king said, shaking his head with a mild sigh. "Which is why I'm confused as to why he sent three werewolves as a last ditch response."

I grinned awkwardly. "That's the thing, your highness....
