The silence in the room was heavy and suffocating. I stared at the tablet in Lucian’s trembling hands, the red text blinking repeatedly.

[FILE STATUS: PERMANENTLY DELETED]

The person must have wiped out every trace of evidence that was left.

We had to move faster and think logically. I felt like we were taking things too slowly. What I had in mind was terrible, and if Jasmine did not return from her coma before the day ended, I’d unleash terror on everyone I suspected had a hand in this.
