Ethan’s POV

“Please don’t kill me,” it yelled.

“Who are you?” I growled.

“It’s Jasmine. Your mate.”

“Jasmine?” Kai and I echoed.

I dropped the dagger and uncovered her face. It was really Jasmine.

What was she doing with a dagger? How did she find it, and why did she intend to use it on us?

“I saw him. He’s here,” she gasped, her small, trembling hands pointing toward the door.

“Pass me that fucking object,” Kai moved without precision, his knuckles turning white as he gripped the object. “Who wants to hurt our mate?”

He didn’t wait for an answer. He slammed his palm against the emergency security button...
