“We didn't know you'd be back so early.” Lucas said, getting up from her front desk.

“Emily didn't tell me you'd be coming in this morning.” Damon said. With every breath, it smelled more like a bar than a woman's office.

“Are you sure you're okay?” I asked him.

“I'm still seeing you here, so I'm not.” He replied.

“I can't help that.” I said. “Why don't you let us take this to your office?” I asked.

“Sure.” He replied, to my surprise.
