“Good morning.” Emily greeted, as she walked into the office on leopard skin pumps.

She looked very bright and full of life.

I, on the other hand, was barely holding up.

I'd seen better days.

“Good morning Emily.” I greeted her. “I'll have someone bring you up to speed up with everything that has happened.”

“That's kind, thank you.” She smiled briefly.

“Anytime.” I acknowledged, staring and holding her eyes a little longer than usual.

But they'd lost the glow they used to have for only me.
