“Hello, sunshine.” Damon turned and greeted me as soon as I opened the door to his room.

Usually, he was still sleeping, or grumpy. He'd grunt and make all sorts of noises, without properly acknowledging me. I'd bear it all, telling myself that it was only a matter of time before he was out of his palace.

But that Tuesday was different.
