Eva's POV

I was in Dianna's room, Bella had suddenly started crying out of the blue and I had no idea on what to do

I picked her up and tried to talk her back to sleep, that's if she was even understanding me though

"You should go back to bed Bella, I know you miss your Mom but she's quite busy right now but I promise she'll be back soon so just stop crying and go back to sleep please" I said as I paced around the room with her

I sensed some presence downstairs and I immediately knew they were back so I went downstairs to meet them with the the baby

"What happened to her?" Dianna asked as she immediately collected Bella from me

"I have no idea, she just suddenly woke up and began to cry" I said

Dianna placed Bella over her chest and walked upstairs to her room

"What's going on? What happened out there?" I asked

"We met with Adrian Hunter, the spell is not with him" Eric said but I had a feeling that was not all that happened

I looked towards where the lighted candles representing all the demons in Arcane City were and I noticed one of the candles has recently gone off

"A candle went off, and it's one of the candles that shone bright, did you guys encounter a potentes?" I asked

"We did but not to worry, the situation was already taken care off when we got there and no one got hurt" Eric said

"No one got hurt? So the witches took care of it all on their own?" I asked surprised

The demon was one of the potentes, a witch alone can rarely handle them, they are too powerful

"No, Ivan killed the potentes" Eric said

"What? Who kill the potentes?" I asked again assuming that I must have heard wrong

"You heard me right Eva, Ivan was here and yes, he killed the powerful demon singlehandedly and sustaining no injury" I said

"What?! But.... but for six months he was away, no one knew where he was and now he suddenly appears out of the blue?" I asked

"Yes he did Eva, and I think he has the immortal killing spell" Eric said

"And what makes you think so?"

"You two should go back home and get some rest, take care of that beating hearts on your chests, for it won't be there much longer" Eric said and looked at me "Those were his exact words"

I sat on the couch and placed my head on my hands

What the hell is going on?

"You don't need to stress yourself over this Eva, Ivan's anger is towards Dianna and I, he has nothing against you" Eric said

"How sure are you about that? I was there when Sophie died and I did nothing too, hell I even helped you guys escaped when he was charging towards you two, Ivan is a beast with no control and now that his emotions are all over the place, I'm sure he's worse, I've seen the ferociousness with which he defended and protected your family when he was with you guys and now that he's against us, we are not safe Eric, none of us is" I said

"His anger towards Dianna and I is understandable but if he comes, when he comes, I won't let him hurt you Eva" Eric said and I chuckled

"It's nice to see you offering to protect me against your all powerful brother, but not to worry, I am the head of the witches, I will protect myself and I will protect everyone in this Mansion" I said as I stood up and Eric grabbed my hand

"You must be so exhausted" he said

"What?"

"Your position comes with a lot of responsibilities and you have to bear them alone, since we came into this city things have turned upside down making life difficult for you, you smooth face has began to wrinkle even before time, do not carry all the burdens alone Eva, even leaders needs rest sometimes too, even leaders asks for help sometimes too, just know I'm always here whenever you decide to share this heavy responsibility of yours with someone" Eric said

He mustered a smile and patted my hand

"Get some rest, we'll all need it for what is to come" he said and walked off

Ivan's POV

I went back to where the car was parked and sat on the back seat with Layla

"The hero of the City is back, thanks for destroying my car door Ivan" Gia said

"You are welcome" I said without looking at her and Layla chuckled

"There's nothing funny here old woman!" Gia said angrily as she started the car and drove forward

"This should be interesting" Layla said obviously enjoying the moment

Gia drove down a dark alley and stopped in front of a house, well hidden within the alley

"This is where we stay, for now" Gia said as she came down from the car and Layla and I did too

We walked into the house and everywhere was dark

"The atmosphere seems eerie" Layla said

The room suddenly lighted up and Ethan was right in front of us

"Sorry for the dark atmosphere, I was just working and I enjoy working in darkness" Ethan said

"Oh my..... What have you done to this small boy Gia, he is filled with so much dark energy" Layla said

"I might be twelve but I am no small boy, I am the current Guardian of The Hell Gates and I'll advise you to address me with respect if you want no repercussion" Ethan said and Layla scoffed

"Ethan" I called and he looked at me

"Are you finally done mourning my sister?" he asked

"I'm so sorry Ethan, I'm sorry for all that happened" I said as I crouched in front of him and placed my hand on his face

He slowly grabbed my hand and let it down

"There is no time to be sorry, only way you can make me feel better is presenting me with the heart of the one that condemned my sister to such a fate" Ethan said

"I promise you Ethan, Sophie's death will not go unavenged" I said and he nodded

"That is what I wanted to hear" he said and walked over to the table and grabbed a parchment of paper

"This is the immortal killing spell we got from Eva's Mansion, to conjure a weapon strong enough to kill an immortal, four things are needed, we have three outbof those four. We have the spell, we have a dagger made of pure gold, we have the ashes of the immortal's enemy which is Aria's ashes, I'm sure it will suffice for that, the last ingredient remaining is the bloody of a born immortal, which means...."

"We will have to get the blood of Dianna's daughter" I completed.....
