All I See Are Pains

*Years Later*

"Sir, the next meeting starts in twenty minutes." My Secretary said,

"Thank you, Shane, I will get ready then, you may leave," I said to her.

I went through some stuff on my system to see what was missing.

My phone started ringing, a call from John, the person my father placed in charge of my properties in Nigeria.

"Hello, John."

"Good day boss, how is everything over there?" He asked.

"Great as usual."

"Boss you will need to come back to Nigeria, a particular property has been used by some set of gangsters and they won't even listen to me, they think you will never return and they fear you more."

"Oh, I see, anyway I was thinking of coming to Nigeria anyway to carry out a special project, just leave them now, when the king returns they will know better."

"Boss I believe you, anytime you are ready to make the move, do let me know I am getting everything ready now in preparation for your coming." I smiled while hanging up.

I think I should also consider this as an excuse and return to my father's place, though I wasn't born there I was always taking to Nigeria for holiday, my father is from Nigeria and my mother is from Uk.

My father said he doesn't want me to forget my roots even if I am doing well in Uk and his dying wish was for me to marry from my home.

My mother joined him, immediately he died, those two are true lovers.

I have John, my father's best friend's son, their families have been loyal to us and anything I don't understand, John is there for me.

Due to my hard work, I acquired two times my father's wealth, so you can address me as a billionaire.

But there is something I am scared of and that is falling in love, I am not ready for that because I never had a first love but girls always come around because of my cuteness and money, I just sex them for fun and that's all. Most people say I am very cold, others say I am ruthless,so many names.

"Good to have you back boss, now our prince is back," John said hugging me and I won't lie, I felt at home now.

"I thought the driver took the wrong turn, truly things have changed here," I said with excitement.

"Your room is prepared already, you can go in, also your meal will be served in the dining room."

He always likes carrying out his work properly, "I will do that later, call in for a meeting now."

"Yes, boss." He understood what I meant by that.

*Rhoda point of view*

The sun is so hot today, I hate this suffering, I wish it could end one day.

I saw some students getting ready to write an exam called Jamb that you can use to go into any university if you get their cut off mark, but look at me, hawking as a punishment for not completing the work at home.

My mate is in year two in university. Irene is lucky to even write jamb.I can't believe I will end up not being a graduate of a good university and become useful in life.

I had to walk home, so tired and hungry, I dare not use the money I sold to eat. If I do, I am doomed for life.

I can't walk anymore, I need to rest a little, about to rest, some thieves played a prank on me.

"Big snake behind you." One of them said,

I turned to see and I got pushed by them, as they took the money and ran off.

"Hey, someone stop them, they are thieves, my money." I kept yelling but no one volunteered to help me.

I started crying, "God how will I face my aunty telling her the money got stolen?"

I got to the house, saw my aunty looking at me with hatred.

"Seems you sold everything, I think I will be giving such punishment to you."

"Aunty, why do you have to treat me this way?" I said and she slapped me.

"I warned you before, never you talk back at me, can I have the money now, I kept garri for you to drink with salt, you have to manage it with nothing to eat along with it, do not touch the bottle water, fetch from the tap, I can't be wasting money on you." She said,

Tears left my eyes, I did her punishment and what I get as food in return is just garri, salt and tap water, I should have died after my parents left this earth.

"Are you deaf? I said, ``Where is the money?"

"A..unnty, it got stolen." I stammered as I adjusted from her a little.

"Are you trying to play with me? Where is the money?" She yelled.

"Aunty, I am so sorry, please give me another chance I will work for it."

"You are dead today, after I deal with you, you will regret ever being brought to this life."

She took a belt from her husband's clothes and started whipping me with it, I screamed in pain, begging her.

"Aunty please, it hurts."

"You are using my money to buy things right and coming home to lie to me, I will end your life today."

"Aunty, I am not lying, believe me, it was stolen on my way home."

She just ignored my pleading and gave me the beating of my life. When she saw blood on my body with marks, she was satisfied.

"You know what, no more food for you today, starve and die, then I bury you to join your foolish parents, nonsense." She left.

I cried my eyes out, all my body aches a lot, I don't like seeing my blood at all.

I got driven out from my own room to stay at the visitor room, without giving me a good bed, no good clothes, I am just a rag to them.

My happiness I enjoyed died along with my parents, right now, all I see are pains, it hurts you know.

Few hours later, my stomach was so hot and empty,I hadn't eaten since morning.

Irene, my cousin was back home, she treated me unfairly too.

I rushed to her,"Welcome Irene."

"Don't come close, you stink."

Tears left my eyes and I stood where I was.

"I am sorry."

"Sorry for yourself, what do you want?" She yelled.

"I haven't eaten since morning, please help me with a little food,I will do everything you want."

"How about you lick my foot?" She said with her evil eyes.

I can't believe someone my parents ask me to take as my responsibility,someone I once showed love,will pay me back with evil.

"Do you mean that?"

"Seems you are not hungry."
