Chapter 6 .

Chapter 6 .

It had been six long months since Ethan had left for his dangerous mission.

Luna had tried to keep herself occupied with work, but she couldn't shake off the feeling of emptiness that had settled inside her. She missed Ethan terribly - his touch, his warmth, his reassuring presence.

She had tried to stay positive, reminding herself that Ethan was doing important work that would benefit the entire werewolf community. But as the days turned into weeks, and the weeks turned into months, her patience began to wear thin.

One evening, as Luna was working late at the office, she heard a knock at the door. She looked up to see a tall figure standing there, silhouetted against the dimly lit hallway.

"Luna," the figure spoke, and Luna felt her heart skip a beat. It was Ethan's voice.

She jumped up from her chair, rushing towards him. As she drew closer, she could see the weary lines etched on his face, and the exhaustion in his eyes.

"Ethan," she whispered, throwing her arms around him. She could feel the warmth of his body, and the familiar scent of his cologne. It was like coming home.

Ethan held her tightly, breathing in the scent of her hair. "I missed you so much, Luna. You have no idea."

Luna felt tears prick at the corners of her eyes. "I missed you too, Ethan. So much."

They stayed like that for a while, wrapped in each other's arms, just enjoying the feeling of being together again.

As they sat down together, Luna poured Ethan a drink, eager to hear about his experiences.

"It's been an intense few months, Luna," Ethan spoke, his voice low. "The pack we were going after was even more dangerous than we thought. It took a lot of effort, and a lot of fighting, but we were finally able to bring them to justice."

Luna listened with rapt attention as Ethan described the harrowing experiences he had gone through. She couldn't help but feel a wave of admiration for him - for his bravery, his intelligence, and his unwavering commitment to protecting his pack.

As the night wore on, Ethan and Luna talked about everything - their hopes and dreams, their fears and insecurities, and their plans for the future. Luna could feel the familiar sense of comfort and safety that came from being with Ethan.

But as the night grew late, Luna noticed something in Ethan's expression. There was a pain in his eyes, and a deep sense of sadness that she couldn't quite put her finger on.

"Ethan," she spoke softly, placing a hand on his arm. "Is everything okay?"

Ethan hesitated for a moment before answering. "It's just... hard, you know? Being a blind alpha. Sometimes I feel like there's so much I can't do, so much I'm missing out on. And it's not just me - I know my pack is scared sometimes, because of my blindness. They don't see me as this powerful alpha, they see me as a weak and vulnerable person, and sometimes that makes me feel even more isolated."

Luna felt a pang of sympathy for him. She couldn't imagine how it must feel, to be both powerful and vulnerable at the same time.

"Ethan, you're not weak. You've overcome so much, and you've accomplished so much. You're still one of the most powerful alphas I know. And as for your pack - they respect and admire you. They know that being blind doesn't define who you are."

Ethan smiled ruefully. "Thanks, Luna. You always know what to say."

They sat in silence for a few moments, lost in their own thoughts. Luna couldn't help but feel a sense of sadness in Ethan's demeanor - like he was carrying a weight that he couldn't quite shake off.

Suddenly, Ethan spoke up. "Luna, I have a surprise for you."

Luna looked up, surprised. "What kind of surprise?"

Ethan grinned mischievously. "Close your eyes and count to ten."

Luna felt a shiver of excitement coursing through her. She did as he asked, closing her eyes tightly.

As she counted to ten, she felt a sudden gust of wind, as if something was moving quickly past her.

"Okay, you can open your eyes now," Ethan spoke, his voice low.

Luna opened her eyes, gasping in astonishment. There, right in front of her, was a majestic white wolf.

For a moment, Luna couldn't quite make sense of what she was seeing. Then she realized - it was Ethan. Ethan in his wolf form.

She jumped up from her chair, staring at him in amazement. He was even more beautiful in his wolf form - his fur was shimmering white, and his eyes were a bright and piercing gold.

"Ethan... this is amazing," Luna spoke, her voice filled with wonder.

Ethan barked in response, his tail wagging frantically. Luna felt a sudden urge to touch him, to feel his soft fur against her skin.

Carefully, she reached out a hand, hesitating for a moment before touching his fur. It was soft and warm, like she had imagined.

For a while, they sat like that, Luna gently petting Ethan's fur, both of them lost in their own thoughts. Luna couldn't help but wonder what it must feel like for Ethan, to be able to experience the world in a completely different way, through his enhanced senses.

As the night grew late, they eventually shifted back to their human form, retiring to bed with a sense of contentment and joy.

As Luna lay in bed, listening to Ethan's breaths, she couldn't help but feel a sense of wonder and awe at the life she had chosen. It was an unconventional and sometimes difficult life, but it was one that was filled with adventure, love, and endless possibilities.

And as she drifted off to sleep, she knew that whatever challenges lay ahead, she would face them with Ethan by her side. Together, they would navigate the complexities of their love and their lives, strengthening their bond with each passing day.
