Jake woke up to see Rebecca staring straight at him. His heart skipped a beat, thinking there was something wrong. Quickly, he rolled over and cuddled her, looking deep into her eyes and trying but failing to discern what was wrong. 

"Hey, any problems?" 

"No," she whispered in reply. "Just a dream." 

She disentangled herself from him, rolled off the bed and made her away to the parlour. They were still living in the house of her doctor friend and due to Rebecca's complacency, they had no immediate plans to move to a place of their own.
