Neil stroked his chin. For someone who had just uncovered a secret, he seemed remarkably calm. "Maybe he forgot about it. Or—" he lifted a finger, signaling for Eve to hold whatever she was about to say, "—maybe he did want to tell you, but you looked like a murderer ready to stab his heart whenever he was near you."
