"It's about Bryan", he finally pulled out of the grip of fear holding him and embraced courage, speaking up to Emily being as free as in speech and also as free as a bird.
It was time for him to tell Emily what he heard about Bryan, he was hiding in plain sight and he couldn't hide it from her anymore, following Martin's words, he needed to let Emily know everything.
She took in a long breath and sat upright in a bid to listen to what Richard had to say.
"Was Bryan okay?", She asked herself. Though she seemed very uneasy, she maintained her cool and paid rapt attention to what Richard was about to say.
"And what about Bryan? Is anything wrong somewhere?", She asked looking concerned and putting her gaze on him (Bryan).
"Martins told me he would be wolfless", he said as he looked at Emily.
She was in suspense, at first seeming motionless but later she turned slowly and looked at Richard.
Her facial expressions changed, her countenance changed.
This was exactly what Richard was trying to avoid. That look on Emily's face, that was the face he never wanted to see.
Truly, the statement was true, uneasy lies in the head that wears the crown, no one could understand the issues he was going through at this point except for his dear wife Emily.
He had not explained everything Martins Grey told him to her, but now, Emily's facial expressions discouraged him from completing his statement.
"What does that mean?", Emily asked, though tears were welling up in her eyes, she summoned the boldness from within, from her wolf and fought back the tears which were trying to force it's way out.
He didn't give any reply, Richard never spoke a word.
The pain of seeing tears rolling down Emily's face was something that would last forever, attacking his conscience.
She had cried enough for the day, first was in labour, second was in the pushing aspect of the child delivery and the third, now?
Would he want his statement to hurt Emily's feelings that much?
Would his statement be the reason for another flood of tears rolling down profusely from her eyes?.
He thought better of Emily, he thought of all these things and he concluded on not saying anything.
"Talk to me!", She sounded authoritatively, "What did he mean by "he would be wolfless"?", She spoke out with emotions filled in every syllable of each word she uttered.
"You really want to know?", He asked feeling a little bit insecure, feeling very concerned about Emily's emotions.
"Bryan is my son! My first born!!", She spoke emotionally.
If it was a man or a demon who sought out for her son's life or soul, she would strip off her cool and devour such man or demon.
She was ready, ready as Freddy, ever ready for whatever thing was coming her way.
"So! SAY IT!!!", She commanded.
This was a whole different Luna, this was an exceptionally different Emily, and when it came to anything concerning any of her sons, she was all out for it
"Alright! I'll say it", Richard finally complied and obeyed her command.
"Well, according to Martins Grey", he spoke with a low tone. He was being careful to make sure that no one heard a single word he said, otherwise, trouble would stir up in the pack and that was one thing he was never ready for.
"According to Martins Grey..", he continued, "he said whenever a female wolf gives birth, the little one releases some kind of minute aura and energy.", He raised as he sniffled his nose.
"He said it shows that.... that... the young child has a wolf present in him and may grow up to... to.. be a fierce warrior depending on if the child would want to train his wolf" he said as he looked down wards.
He had shame written all over his face and for the first time, the feeling of sadness had overcame him.
"Okay!!! So How does that relate to Bryan?", Emily asked looking highly skeptical.
She thought of how all of these things concerned Bryan or related to them in any way.
She tried calculating what could possibly be the big deal in what Martins Grey told Richard.
"He said..", Richard took in a long breath and sniffled his nose. This was the first time, the moment of Truth had finally arrived, and at this moment in time, he couldn't find the most perfect way to say it.
Emily's look was enough to make his heart bleed, she gestured with her head telling him to continue what he wanted to say.
"He said Bryan may be wolfless", Richard finally summoned the courage to say it as it was.
There it was, a flood of tears rolling down his light skinned cheeks.
Who could believe that the most powerful Alpha wolf, Alpha Richard would let sadness get the better part of him?
Anyone was free to think in that direction. Alpha Richard was a man of war, elegant in all his ways, his footsteps communicated dominance, his choice of words spoke power and his fighting skills showed strength, but now he was crying, weeping profusely like a big baby.
He could possibly cry Emily a river if allowed to
Whenever it came to emotional things concerning his wife or children, he took it seriously.
Emily was struck but what she saw, her knight in shining armor was in tears.
She dragged herself forward, and dragged Richard close to herself and laid his head on her bosoms, slowly running her hands through his dark hair and stroking it to ease off his pain.
"I can't believe this is happening to me", Richard said as more tears rolled down his cheeks.
The only one he could expose his weaknesses to was Emily, his wife.
"Oh! Richard", she let out an exclamation.
Looking at Emily, one could conclude the didn't care about Bryan or anything her husband said.
But deep within her, she heard every single thing he said and she felt everything he felt too.
Now, she understood what made Alpha Richard sad from the very beginning.
If the entire pack got to know that Bryan was wolfless or got to know that Alpha Richard had declared him alpha even when he knew his son was wolfless, then there would be a case of uprising, a serious revolt in the pack and that would definitely be the first of it's kind in the Blue moon pack and it would be very painful to know it happened in his own tenure.
Emily pulled him away from her chest and looked at him.
He looked completely miserable, he looked like one who had lost a shilling and found sixpence, his emotions caught him at his vulnerable point and held him down.
"Is that all?", Emily asked as she wiped off the tears from his eyes using her thumb.
"Is that all?", Richard asked, redirecting the question back to Emily.
With all he said, could that be the only reasonable statement proceeding out from her mouth?
Didn't she feel anything for her son?
Doesn't she know the repercussions of having a wolfless child?
These questions were flowing through from his mind as he looked at Emily with questioning eyebrows.
"I mean", Emily continued as she pulled off the strand of hair which fell on Richard's face.
"Look! I know you're surprised at what I said. I feel for Bryan, he's our son, there's no way I won't feel something for him, especially about his future. I know the adverse effects of having a wolfless child, especially a male", she said answering the exact same questions flowing through Richard's head.
She was viewing everything that happened as if she was wearing a red coloured glass.
It seemed as though she was in his mind, reading the possible random thoughts and questions in his head and answering them in the exact same manner.
They have known each other for years, they got used to each other's thoughts, got used to their strength and weaknesses and knew the most appropriate, the fastest and the most perfect way to calm each other whenever they are in nervous states.
"I know all of these, and even more", she continued her statement.
She said further, "But you need to calm down and put yourself together. Look at me!", Emily said when she noticed Richard had been looking down at the ground for so long.
Richard looked up at her when he heard her say the statement.
Emily was the only person in the world capable of controlling the Alpha wolf.
The love he had for Emily was so strong, he obeyed every single command she gave, at least, he obeyed and was always willing to do what she said.
"I'm always here for you, every step of the way" Emily continued stared into her eyes.
They locked eyes again, her eyes glowed and he could see love rising in her eyes.
He was rest assured, Emily loved him just the way he did, but in a way, Emily loved him even more than he loved her and every day, he tried all his possible best to out love her.
Her soft spoken words spoke comfort, and her words were more than an encouragement to him, her words were more than a breath of fresh air, her words were like life to his dying soul.
"Bryan is our son! The first born. And no matter what happens, he'll succeed you and his brother will support him", Emily said as she kept cleaning off the tears which rolled down his cheeks.
"You only have to do one thing, and you have to promise me you will do it", Emily spoke out again.
Richard looked at her, concentrating on each word she spoke, concentrating on her last statement.
The look on Richard's face spoke some words to Emily, she could see he was following her every step she took him, and her confidence level shot up higher than ever.
"And what is that?", Richard asked, he was trying to follow her at her pace, trying hard to understand what she was saying.
"You have to make sure you will train Bryan with everything in you, with everything you have. Never minding what others will think. You have already declared him Alpha, and that will stand. You promise to make him a better version of you, and same with Nicholas", Emily advised.
She was right, whether Bryan was going to be wolfless or not, that was not going to stop Richard from being their father.
He was meant to train the young boys to become better than him, and with Emily on his side, she was going to make sure that he would deliver to the boys, the best lessons and advices a father can deliver to his sons.
He needed to train them on the principles of leadership and on decision making, training them on the ethics of war and gaining victory, teaching them the significant role of the moon goddess in a werewolf's life.
"Are you sure?", Richard replied softly.
Her words struck him deeply and he understood what she said, and just like she promised herself, she was going to be by his side, teaching and raising up the boys to become Future Leaders and even better parents.
"Yes, I'm sure", Emily assured him, she was expressing her emotions to Richards.
She could feel the pain and the uncertainty in his voice, but in all, she kept the hope alive and also wanted to stir up the hope in Richard's mind.
Besides, she had already made a promise to herself, she was going to be the best mother she could ever be to her two sons, she was going to be closer to them than ever, especially Bryan.
She knew for sure that one day, the young boy would grow to understand what would really go on in his life and that was the time she would have to step in as not just a mother, but as a best friend.
Richard was obviously touched by her words, those words sank deeply into his heart, it changed how he felt and he looked onto the bight side, he was ever grateful she was wife.
He hugged her tightly and so did Emily. She could feel the muscles of his back, how it captivated her and stole her attention, she couldn't help but rub her hands through his back feeling every fiber of his muscles.
"I have something in mind", she said as she still hugged him.
"Something very special in mind."
"What do you have in mind wife?!", Richard said as he grabbed Emily by her waist and looked straight into her eyes, while Emily placed her hands over his shoulders and onto the back of his neck.
