PART. 1

PART. 1

Shit!

Grace cursed as she glanced at the digital clock on her cell phone. Ten minutes from the start of her shift, she's still at the bus stop! Grace immediately ordered a motorcycle online as quickly as possible; as soon as he got the driver, without further ado, she called him, making sure to pick her up right at the crossing steps. So she didn't waste time waiting.

It feels like Grace wants to blame her favorite Korean drama, but it's impossible. Moreover, blaming Lee Min Ho it's impossible anymore. So she chose to blame herself while hoping the big boss wasn't angry.

"Jovanka?"

Grace grimaced. Sometimes he wants to curse his stupidity for naming her online motorcycle taxi account after her last name. Jovanka.

"Yes. Mr. Asep?"

The driver nodded.

"Sir, a little speeding. It's okay. I'll be late. I'll have to cut my salary," joked Grace, which Grace was greeted with a slight chuckle from the driver named Asep.

"Ready, sis."

As she sat down and fastened her helmet, Grace's cell phone was already screaming for attention. She hastily reached into her bag again, looking for her favorite gadget, then her eyes almost jumped when she saw the caller ID that appeared there.

"Whale! How about this?"

But Grace couldn't possibly pick it up. She should be sprayed the more terrible she will receive now than arrive at her desk later. "Yes, Sir?" she asked without further ado, half shouting. The sound of other vehicles around Grace is boisterous, and the wind that blows around her head is quite strong. The effect motorcyclist she was riding slightly accelerated her car.

"Where?"

If he has asked so briefly, Grace should arrive soon. Whether there is work to be done immediately or prepare for a meeting... wait, appointment! Grace remembered that they had a meeting with Harapan Bangsa in one hour. One of the clients with significant turnover towards the end of the year. Her head retains a lot of work that she has completed but needs to be rechecked to make no mistakes.

The big boss does not tolerate mistakes—any small.

"On the way, sir." Grace closed her eyes for a moment. Besides thinking about the job, she also had to be cunning. "Have you had breakfast? Want to take it?"

Grace heard on the other end a grunt. "Chicken porridge."

A smile spread across Grace's lips. Finally... this sentence she had been waiting for. The boss and the food. Two things that cannot be separated. With at least one serving of porridge, Grace hoped her boss wouldn't be too upset about her delay.

"Sir, stop by the porridge maker near the campus before you, okay? My boss is starving, and he's going to be angry."

The driver just nodded. As soon as they arrived at the regular porridge maker, Grace ordered two portions, all of which were separated. One for her, another clear for his boss. Then asked the driver again to pull the gas a little. When she got off his motorbike, Grace arrived one minute before the end of the absence. She was in such a hurry, didn't have time to greet anyone on the first floor—everything she tidied up and hurried up to the second floor, where the absent machine was.

"Phew! Almost too late!" squealed Grace happily. Two seconds to go to one minute past eight. Very precious seconds, right?

"Late, Grace?" said one of the staff, Violet's name. Grace was close to Violet because they both had the same taste apart from not being too far apart in age. They like Korean dramas. It can be excited when they talk about the series that is currently in and should be included in their marathon list.

Grace could be more relaxed going up to the third floor. The place where she works is also her boss's room. When she arrived at the end of the stairs, the boss was already sitting at his desk.

"Morning, sir," Grace greeted innocently.

"Afternoon, Pin."

Grace's lips pursed. "I'm not late, sir. machine absent the witness."

The boss? He just waved his fat hand. "Where's my breakfast?"

Food is so fast! Grace thought. She immediately put down his bag, then prepared the breakfast she had bought. She was caught quite carefully in front of her boss, who was still busy watching his cell phone. His eyes, which seemed to sink into the bubbles of his chubby cheeks, made Grace wince a little.

"Sir, breakfast."

He just nodded. His eyes dropped slightly to see the dish served. His appetite arose when the smell of intestine satay caught his sense of smell. The little assistant always knows which one to double in the portion of the order. Like this time, two intestine satays are also two quail egg satays. "Thank you, Pin."

There was no response from the assistant, who turned out to have eaten first. From the corner of her eye, it could be seen that her little assistant, Grace Jovanka, had been called Dolphin because she couldn't stay still and rushed to her desk. Maybe she ran after the absent machine so she wouldn't be late. The proof is actual. There was a sweet spot on the girl's forehead, which he ignored.

Dolphin prefers to eat lustfully on her porridge.

Just like Theo. He shrugged as he looked back at the porridge he had to finish.

"Get ready soon, yes, Pin. This meeting has to be a deal." Theo wiped the corners of his lips with a tissue. Clean the rest of the porridge that is afraid to stick there.

"Yes, sir. Just take one more time, afraid you'll miss something." Grace herself had already finished breakfast. "Would you like to reread it?"

The boss shook his head. It was hard for him to get up from his seat and walk toward his room. His breath was slightly gasping like a koi fish running out of water. Sometimes, Grace wonders if her boss isn't happy with her overweight body? Well, as long as the boss is typical, Grace too. It doesn't matter. Most importantly, Grace was not hit by a furious Patrick Theodore Wayne.

Even though a large body has excellent potential for hypertension, Grace is not too familiar with the world of health.

Grace immediately prepared to open the worksheet and re-check all the reports and the details that would be presented to Harapan Bangsa as data, as well as preparations in case they asked to negotiate on the price issue. Even though the price was a final decision, Theo and Grace still had to have data.

She will be working for Shaka Tour and Travel for seven years next month. Six years passed with her as an assistant to Patrick Theodore, owner and supreme boss of this five-story office. For Grace, the boss is good... it's good. But... sometimes the ferocity recurs. He wanted a lot. The report had to give had to be perfect. There were no defects, not to mention the arbitrary overtime orders that Grace couldn't deny.

While in his big room, Theo just stared at the mirror right behind his big chair. His eyes stared far away at the events that had just passed a week. It's very close to how everything dominates him. It drained a side that he should have been able to draw, but this time, everything was deadlocked. Several times he tried to concentrate, but it wasn't easy, especially in half an hour he had to go to a meeting. But he couldn't focus.

He took a deep breath and reached for the phone on the table. He called his confidant to replace him temporarily. The matter of the price deal, Theo believed him.

"You left for a meeting with Dolphin. I am not feeling well." Not needing an answer or rejection, Theo immediately hung up the phone as soon as he heard the greeting from his subordinates. It was only his agile assistant he had to tell him about the change in his plans.

"Pin," he said matter-of-factly as Grace answered the intercom from her desk. "You have a meeting with Felix, huh. I am not feeling well."

"Oh, you’re sick? How come you were healthy? Are you sick? Want to be taken to the doctor? I told Mr. Deny that if you-"

"No, I need to rest at the office. All right, get ready. Felix will be here in a minute." He didn't want to hear anything else from his staff.

Yes, Theo needs a break. He is resting his full head due to personal matters. He shouldn't be able to interrupt this, but what can he does? This is too distracting. His eyes closed for a moment to dispel his anger. Many questions keep pounding so he can find answers.

"Sorry, I still want a career. If I get married later, I'm afraid my career will be hampered."

Those were the only words that continued to resonate and absorb Theo's sanity until this moment.
