The wind cuts sharp through my coat as I stand at the edge of our territory, my phone clutched tightly in one hand. I hesitate, thumb hovering over Tessa’s contact. I’ve gone over this a hundred times in my head—how to say it, how to explain what doesn’t make any damn sense.
