His guards wheeled him away and I watched him go and thought about three months of sitting in a room with him while a court-appointed counsellor asked us to describe our feelings, and the fury was so complete it had gone quiet.

"He seems confident," Leo said, not to me specifically.

"He’s confident that he can win you back when you're alone with him." he said, turning to look at me.

The question underneath the words was not quite hidden. I can’t believe he’s doubting me
