Raine's POV

"Where are you going?" I heard Lucius's voice behind me, causing me to stop in my tracks.

I can't allow him to know my intention nor do I have any excuse to give him at the moment. My heart tilted in the confusion of my decision, and I stood rooted to the spot.

"Do you think I won't know your intentions?" He said again, now in a loud voice.

My body shook as it trembled with the sudden realization that almost made my heart jump out due to the fast-beating race.
