Vigils were a way to call the sprits of old to guide the dead souls into the aftermath. This was normal before the body got into the pyre but this vigil was one too much. Feverwood deserved more than three weeks of vigil but the statutory was one and this was one that was going to drain me way too much.

The breeze seemed to understand the sadness that was going on in the whole surroundings, and even the distant wolf howled in pain and agony. The pain and agony was more than something that I could comprehend, especially with the mode of his death.
