Raine's POV.

"Lucius?" My heart dropped as I turned to him fully, panic rising in my chest. "What's wrong?"

"I..." He faltered, his voice trailing off as he swayed slightly. "I think... I think I need to..."

Before he could finish, he slumped against me, his body going limp. "Lucius!" I cried, panic surging through me as I struggled to catch him.

"Help!" I shouted, my voice echoing into the night. "Somebody, please!"

As I called for help, dread settled in my stomach. My strength start fading and I could feel myself dripping away my dignity at the moment. Desperately searching for his pulse when I had an heartbreaking thought...
