Lucius’ POV

I sat on the throne in the center of the empty palace, awaiting the entity that was already roaming the grounds. I’d intentionally evacuated the palace guards to make sure its influence doesn’t spread to my palace workers or to Raine and Chadwick. I sat still, unafraid, my eyes scanning the entire hall while my senses stood on high alert.

The demon materializes before me, his red eyes scanning the space. “Impressive, Alpha,” he says, his voice like crackling flames. “I didn’t think you had it in you.”
