CHAPTER 6: EAT
SHANBRI POV
"Long time no see, Miss Ramos," he replied deeply.
I didn't answer right away and stared at him. He also stared at me with a smile on his lips. I was even more nervous.
"Ahm l-long t-time no s-see too, s-sir," I stammered but I didn't want him to know that I was still affected by him so I stood up straight and fought his gaze.
He was always grinning. He stood up from his chair and leaned in front of his desk.
There was little space between the two of us and I could smell his perfume again.
"You know, I don't really expect to see you here. Were you surprised to see me again?" he just asked me seriously.
I didn't answer because I didn't know what to say to him.
"Why don't you say something. Don't you think that you owe me an explanation?" he asked again.
"What do you mean, sir?" I just asked and I'm still nervous.
"I'm sure you know what I mean, Miss Ramos," he replied firmly.
"Sir, I know it's disrespectful, but we're in the office. You're my boss and I'm just an employee, so I don't think we should talk about it," I simply answered avoiding the topic.
"I don't care. I have the right to be angry because of what you did to me." There was a trace of anger in his tone of voice.
"It's been over for a long time, sir. Let's forget about it," I answered simply.
I don't want to talk about those things anymore especially since he already has his own family so I don't think he needs me anymore in his life. I don't want to get involved with him anymore.
"You're impossible! You're really unfair Shanbri," I was a little shocked when he mentioned my name because when he called me like that, it was really serious.
"Sir, you have a family. I know you're happy and I'm happy with my life too, so let's just forget all of our past," was all I could say.
"Tsk. You're always like that. You always avoid when there's a problem, you still haven't changed until now," he told me disappointedly.
"Sir, if you don't mind, I have to leave because I still have a lot of work to do," I interrupted our conversation.
I don't want to prolong our conversation because every time I see his gray eyes, all our happy memories come back to me and I might cry in front of him anytime.
I don't want him to think I'm weak. He can't know that I was so sad when I left him.
Fortunately, my two children arrived. I draw strength from them while I miss their father.
"There, that's where you're really good at. Leaving me," there was a reproach in his tone.
My heart throbbed when I heard it. But I have to be strong.
I completely turned my back on him and left his office.
I know what I did was something rude because he is my boss but I really can't stay there with him anymore.
I quickly entered the elevator and that's when my tears started to flow.
I still really love him. From then until now my feelings have not changed.
But I have to put it aside, especially since he already has a family. I don't want to be hurt again when he chooses his real family more so he can't see the twins.
I don't want them to get hurt either. I love my children so much that even if I wrongly hide them from their father, I will still do it. I don't want to mess up anymore.
I took a deep breath and wiped my tears before returning to my seat.
"Shan, why are you here now? Where is the paper I asked you to sign?" asked Mr. Santos.
"Ah sir, Mr. Villamor said he will sign it later," I just answered.
"Ah, is that so? Why did it take you so long? Wait, are you crying?" sir asked again.
He noticed that my eyes were a little red from crying.
"Ah, no, sir. I went to the restroom, so it took me a while." I didn't realize it.
"Ah, is that so, go ahead and continue your work." He was referring to my left work.
___
It was lunch break and my colleagues got up one by one to eat. They went to the cafeteria of this company.
I was left at my table because I wasn't hungry yet and I didn't feel like eating.
I'm still thinking about what Kenj and I talked about earlier.
"Miss Ramos, right?" I returned to reality and saw Miss Lara, the secretary of Mr. Ramirez, the former owner of this company.
I looked at her in wonder. "Oh, yes, it's me," I answered politely.
"Mr. Villamor is summoning you in his office," he responded gruffly.
"Huh? Me? Why?" I asked one after another.
"Yes, do we have another Miss Ramos here and another one I don't know why so it's better to just go there," she said flatly.
"Ah, is it now?" I asked nervously again.
"Yes, it's now and can you go there already, you still have a lot of questions," he said artfully as she rolled her eyes at me and left.
That's weird. Does she have a problem with me?
I sighed but I have a bigger problem now. Why is he calling me, what else does he need from me?
I don't want to explain anymore. I simply heaved a sigh with just the thought of it.
Even against my will, I went to Kenj's office. I knocked three times then went inside.
I saw him sitting in his swivel chair in front of me and he was waiting for me.
I took a deep breath before speaking. "Sir, you are calling me." I said with respect.
"Have you eaten?" he just asked all of a sudden.
I was shocked because I did not expect that he would ask me that and actually made me come here.
"Yes sir, I'm done," I lied.
"I don't think so. Come on, let's eat. I ordered your favorite meal," and he pointed at the food using his lips.
That's when I noticed the food on his table. This is M*do, my favorite. He still hasn't forgotten that.
We often eat at M*Donald's because I invite him there. He doesn't even want it because he says it's not healthy but he can't do anything because that's what I want.
"You were quiet. Did you remember anything?" he asked while grinning.
I didn't pay attention to his question.
"I'm full, sir. You can eat, I'm leaving," I informed.
"Why? Isn't this what we always do before? Don't you want to eat with me anymore?" he said meaningfully.
"I'm done eating, sir," I said firmly.
"But I'm not yet done. Actually. you are the one that I want to eat right here, right now," he said deeply and stared at my body while grinning.
I feel like I was frozen in my place. Oh My Gosh! It looks like I'm in danger here.
