“Marcus said he saw a lady with crying baby walk into the woods a few days ago,” Lucian said, his voice breaking the silence as we trekked through the woods, accompanied by Jacob and a few of Lucian’s Betas. “I think she’s the one they saw.”

I didn’t immediately react to Lucian’s words. My mind wasn’t focused on what he was saying. Everything he’d mentioned since offering to help me had felt more like a shot in the dark.
