I peeked over at Isaac only to run right into his eyes and after a few seconds of staring at him, I read his thoughts. A huge shock took over my mind. How was this possible? I was so shocked by what I read that my fingertips trembled.

Someone beside me was calling my name and telling me to get my ass to the back kitchen, but I was frozen in place as if I had been struck by lightning. No matter how loudly they called me, I was still caught up in the emotion of surprise, until one of the maids forcefully dragged me to the back...
