My face flushed immediately.

Eleanor's smirk grew dangerously wide. “Ooh, look at you, all red and flustered. Something did happen, didn’t it? That’s why you’ve been twitchy and nervous all day!”

I swatted her hand away and brought mine to my cheeks, which, unfortunately, felt like lava.

“W-What are you talking about?” I said quickly, trying not to look like a cornered criminal. “Nothing happened. My face is always flushed. You know that. Don’t be so dramatic.”
