“What do you have for me?” I said.

Right now, Eva Rowan is inside my office. I stood with my back turned to her, hands clasped behind me, watching the chaos of the city several floors down below, but the bustling noise never reached this room with the reinforced window stretching from floor to ceiling.

She cleared her throat first, “It has been going smoothly, sir,” she reported. “Miss Kerri improved a lot.”

I slightly tilt my head to the side, boredom showing from my eyes. I already know that Kerri is great, I want to know more about the people around her and how they are behaving....
